Ben je liever toeschouwer of gladiator? Krijg gegarandeerde toegang tot het Colosseum. Bespaar tijd bij het wachten met deze tour, inclusief toegang tot 's werelds meest bezochte monument met een archeoloog. Reis terug in de tijd en verken de geschiedenis en architectuur met een kleine groep van maximaal 25 deelnemers. Ontmoet uw archeoloog-gids buiten het Colosseum en geniet van een korte introductie over het gebied. Gebruik een bevoorrechte achterdeuringang en krijg exclusieve toegang rechtstreeks tot de Gladiators Arena. Bespaar tijd bij het wachten in de ticketregels met deze tour inclusief toegang tot het Colosseum.
Eenmaal binnen loop je in de Arena vloer door de beruchte "Porta Libitinaria". Voel je als een Gladiator en reis terug naar de dagen van het Romeinse Rijk met een professionele archeoloog. Bewonder dit machtige wonder van de oude techniek en leer over de innovatieve technieken die werden gebruikt om het te bouwen. Ontdek de politieke en sociale redenen die tot de bouw ervan hebben geleid en hoor over de bloedige spelen die erin plaatsvonden. Nadat uw officiële tour is afgelopen, kunt u uw tickets gebruiken om het archeologische gebied van de Romeinse Forums en Palatijnheuvel op eigen houtje te bezoeken of met een rondleiding (kies de optie die u verkiest tijdens uw boeking).
OPTIONEEL kunt u zich bij de gids aansluiten om naar het archeologische gebied van de Romeinse Forums en Palatijn te gaan in een andere rondleiding van 1 uur. Kies deze optie tijdens uw boeking. Hier dompel je jezelf onder in de ruïnes van oude tempels en bewandel je de paden van keizers en senatoren. Leer hoe dit prachtige gebied het kloppende hart van het oude Rome werd. Hoor over de Vestaalse Maagden en bekijk hun tuinen en de heidense tempel van de Godin Vesta die ze dienden. Leer over de Basilica Julia en het strafsysteem van het oude Rome en de effecten ervan op het christendom. Bekijk de tempel van Castor en Pollux en de Boog van Titus en leer over de plundering van Jeruzalem. Ontdek het Senaatshuis, waar senatoren bijeenkwamen om te beslissen over het lot van de Romeinse Republiek en hoe dat eindigde met de moord en crematie van Julius Caesar.
Bewandel de paden van de Romeinse keizers terwijl je de heuvel bezoekt waar de legende van Romulus en Remus het fundament van de stad legt: de Palatijn. Leer hoe het later een van de meest exclusieve delen van het oude Rome werd en geniet van een adembenemend uitzicht over het Colosseum en het Forum Romanum. Geniet vanaf de hoogten van de Palatijn van een panoramisch uitzicht over wat wordt beschouwd als het grootste bouwwerk voor openbare spelen dat ooit door de mensheid is gebouwd, het Circus Maximus.

- Zorg dat je 30 minuten voor aanvang aanwezig bent bij het verzamelpunt.
- Geef de volledige namen van alle reizigers bij het boeken. Het niet voorleggen van een voucher met de volledige naam van alle reizigers bij de ticketbalie voorafgaand aan de toegang kan leiden tot toegang tot het Colosseum en het Forum Romanum.
- Reizigers jonger dan 18 jaar dienen een geldig document of identiteitsbewijs te overleggen
- Je moet door strikte en verplichte veiligheidscontroles om het Colosseum te betreden
- Trolleys en grote rugzakken zijn binnen niet toegestaan, evenals glazen/metalen flessen of sprays (bijvoorbeeld parfums etc.)
- Drones en messen van welke aard dan ook zijn ten strengste verboden bij de monumenten
- Voor succesvolle toegang tot het Colosseum en het Forum Romanum moet elke reiziger een geldig paspoort of identiteitsbewijs overleggen dat overeenkomt met de naam die is opgegeven bij het boeken.

This was a very informative tour! Our guide, Ting, was extremely knowledgeable and her descriptions of events almost made you feel as if you were there back in those days! My only regret is I wished I had booked this trip for first week of November as it was 95 degrees and smoldering hot!

This was a great tour that gave us a lot of information without it being overwhelming or getting boring. Definitely follow the suggestion to bring a refillable water bottle as it gets very hot. We were able to walk to the meeting point but it is right at one if the metro stops and we had no issues meeting up with the group. I enjoyed the 10 am start as we didn’t have to rush to get out in the morning the only downfall was it got very warm by the end of the tour but as long as dressed properly and have water it was still enjoyable! The Colosseum was the thing my daughter was looking forward to the most on this trip and this did not disappoint at all! Great guide, easy meet up, definitely worth booking!

A thoroughly interesting tour of the Colosseum, Palentine Hill and The Forum (despite the rain) and Bogdan kept us engaged with such interesting and well pitched content throughout. The poor weather meant the tour was almost private, but he would deliver to a greater audience just as well. They provide radio transmitters and headphones so everyone can hear.

Of course it was packed but that's par for course. It was still amazing to see it from the arena. The tour guide was excellent and is clearly an expert at herding sheep through tiny cattle gates as she navigated the crowds with aplomb. My only complaint it that the crowds caused so much of a delay that we literally only got to see the Forum from the Palantine balcony areas. She offered to take us down there but said it would be very rushed and made it clear she thought it was a bad idea. I get it, it's crowded but if a tour say you'll walk in Roman Forum then that's what should happen or a slight refund offered.

The tour itinerary was different than indicated— first a tour of Palatine Hill region, then overlook and description of the Forum, followed by Colosseum tour. Numerous members of our group had mobility issues, and I was very surprised that the tour said “wheelchair accessible” and did not indicate that attendees should be able to climb stairs and walk along lots of uneven ground and essentially stand for most of 3 hours. It was unfortunate for everyone because the people who could not walk and climb easily were not able to experience the whole tour and the tour was slowed because of this. Our guide was entertaining, very pleasant and patient, and gave context and stories to make the history come alive. He was not an archaeologist, as the tour title indicates. I should have read extensively ahead of time to better understand the features and structures we saw. I was hoping for a more historical details. On a high note, the Palatine Hill area has many amazing features—I did not think this was part of the guided tour. As a side note, restrooms were few and far between.
We would like to apologise for not meeting your expectations during our Colosseum Arena and Roman forum guided tour. However, we would like to inform you that the tour has ran regularly, the itinerary was exactly as described: Colosseum Arena, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill for 3 hours. As mentioned in the voucher, the starting point might vary according to the entrance time at the Colosseum. The tour is wheelchair accessible but we also do mention that the Forum is not so accessible since there are some stairs - however the guides always know which path to walk on should there be wheelchairs during the tour. We appreciate the nice comments regarding our tour guide - and hope that you enjoyed the tour nevertheless.
A huge shout out to Elisa navigating us to the group as we walked to the meet up point. Mario is a very knowledgeable guy gave us insight to the history of the Colosseum kept the multi aged group fascinated. Don’t be put off with the steps as there is a lift inside for those who may need it. Well worth excursion with professional guide definitely way to go. Highly recommend. Sun in September was bearable 30 degrees for in arena.
