Beschrijving
Een tournee dag gewijd aan water en vuur, van de Gorges of Alcantara rivier tot de hoogste actieve vulkaan van Europa. Bezoek het Alcantara Fluvial Park, een prachtig natuurreservaat tussen Catania en Taormina, een unieke plaats met zijn Alcantara. Na dit bezoek gaan we richting de Etna en bezoeken we oude kraters en lavastromen, vulkanische grotten om in alle veiligheid te verkennen.

De begeleide trekking doorkruist het River Park, een plaats van groot naturalistisch belang. Tijdens deze aangename wandeling tussen de weelderige vegetatie, zult u genieten van een bezoek vanaf de top van de Alcantara-rivier en vanaf de verschillende uitkijkpunten langs de paden kunt u uitzichten van buitengewone schoonheid zien. Een uniek schouwspel zal zich voor uw ogen openbaren: duizelingwekkende rotsachtige kloven tot 25 meter hoog, in tweeën gedeeld door de ijskoude Alcantara-rivier, de Alcantara-kloven vertegenwoordigen een authentiek meesterwerk van de natuur. Met de excursie naar de Alcantara Gorges kunt u de verbazingwekkende schoonheid van deze diepe kloven van vulkanische oorsprong bewonderen. Hun kliffen die uitkijken over de rivier bezaaid met basaltprisma's, de bizarre symmetrische rotsformaties die werden gevormd als gevolg van de afkoeling van de gloeiende lava in contact met het ijskoude water en hun majestueuze zuilvormige basalt van duizend jaar oude oorsprong vormen een betoverende natuurlijke kloof van buitengewone impact.
De Etna-tour omvat een bezoek aan de Silvestri-kraters, gelegen nabij de Sapienza Refuge, waar u de maanlandschappen kunt bewonderen die kenmerkend zijn voor het gebied van de kraters die dateren uit de uitbarsting van 1892. De Etna-tour gaat verder met de verkenning van een spectaculaire lavagrot. De gidsen zullen u begeleiden en u zult worden voorzien van de nodige uitrusting (helm en fakkels) om de vulkanische grot in alle veiligheid te kunnen bezoeken.
Tijdens uw bezoek aan de Etna zult u een uniek uitzicht tegenkomen en kunt u de immense uitgestrektheid van de Vallei van de Os bewonderen, een oude vulkanische caldera die 10.000 jaar geleden is gevormd.
Onderweg zult u de lavastromen kunnen observeren die dateren uit verschillende tijdperken, een echt bewijs van de intense vulkanische activiteit van de Etna die een eeuwenlange geschiedenis heeft doorgemaakt, zoals vulkanische bommen, kraters en verschillende zijkraters. Met een wandeling tussen kraters van oude formatie en die van recentere formatie, doorkruist u het gebied dat is aangetast door de lavastroom die is gegenereerd door de uitbarsting van 1991/93 en bereikt u de Sapienza Refuge op een hoogte van 2000 meter.
De laatste stop van de Etna-tour is gepland in de stad Zafferana Etnea. Je stopt bij een gecertificeerde boerderij en je krijgt een proeverij van typische producten aangeboden Honing, olijfolie, testen 3 wijn, Nerello Mascalese etna-wijn

We were lucky to be the only 2 participants that day... So we had an almost private tour with Daniela which was just great!!! He explained everything, from Etna, to the caves up to the Alcantara gorges!! Simply fantastic as the tour itself!! To be redone!! Simone & Aris

Tour of Etna and the Alcantara gorges accompanied by the very kind, extremely helpful and highly trained guide Aristide Tomasino. We spent a very pleasant day passing in the morning, after an exhaustive explanation during the journey, to the gorges of the three levels climbing up to the Speranza refuge near the sylvan craters where we were able to enjoy a suggestive and spectacular view. Afterwards, tasting of wines and specialties in the city of Zafferana and, in the afternoon, visit to the Alcantara gorges where we were able to visit the beautiful park and take a bath in the cold water of the river. Beautiful and memorable day, recommended.
Super recommended experience for anyone passing through the Etna area. It was fun and interesting both for the wonderful places we visited and for the passion and culture of our guide (Aristide).
