Een rondleiding door het historische centrum van Valencia om de meest emblematische monumenten te bezoeken, met een speciale nadruk op de vier werelderfgoederen van de stad. Betreed de Lonja de la Seda (Zijdebeurs), geniet van het verleden en heden van de stad en zorg voor geweldige en blijvende herinneringen aan uw bezoek. *In geval van sluiting van de Zijdebeurs door een evenement tijdens het bezoek, bieden wij de mogelijkheid om de tickets naar de klanten te sturen om ’s middags zelf naar binnen te gaan of we proberen ze om te ruilen voor een ticket van hetzelfde bedrag naar een ander museum/monument.

Bezoek aan het station.
Hier zullen we het hebben over de Fallas, de laatste toevoeging van Valencia aan deze UNESCO-lijst in 2016. Deze festiviteiten worden gehouden tussen 15 en 19 maart en veranderen de stad in een openluchtmuseum van kortstondige monumenten, begeleid door muziek, traditionele kostuums en de geur van buskruit.

We betreden de Lonja de la Seda, een meesterwerk van burgerlijke gotische architectuur, dat in 1996 tot werelderfgoed werd verklaard. De fantastische Sala de Contratación, met zijn zuilen, gewelven en ribben, neemt ons mee naar de welvaart van de Valenciaanse Gouden Eeuw . Avondrondleidingen (in augustus en september, om 18.30 uur) zijn exclusief toegang.
Extern bezoek
Het Tribunaal van de Wateren, immaterieel erfgoed van de mensheid sinds 2008, vindt elke donderdag om 12.00 uur plaats bij de Apostelenpoort van de kathedraal.

Valencia is a lovely city with an old centre that is stuffed with interesting buildings. Our guide, Belen, was full of enthusiasm and information about the city. She went at a sensible pace and pointed out aspects of the city that you would never have got by yourself. The vulgar stone carvings were particularly amusing and the sort of thing you are unlikely to notice unless someone like Belen points them out. Our tour concentrated on the historical centre so we didn't get to see the modern architecture nor have an amble along the lovely park that was the river bed, but these we will do on a future visit - we are definitely coming back. If you have limited time or simply want to see the historical centre of the city, then hiring a guide like Belen is absolutely the right way to go. We would highly recommend her tour.

Walking was a good way to get introduced to important sites in Valencia. Plan for stairs. I was happy to move quickly from one site to the next.

This was a very informative tour of the history of Valencia and some its main buildings. We visited the City Hall and the Silk Market inside and outside, the main train station, the mercado and the Cathedral. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.
