Today I took a nice online tour of the pretty city of Takayama with the LVCA guide. A city with a beautiful old town, which seems suspended in time and emanates ancient traditions from every corner. The LVCA guide proved more than courteous by answering my every question, and demonstrating a remarkable knowledge of the place and the history of the city, without ever falling into the didactic but rather adopting a simple and never boring language. I could admire the traditional architecture of the center with its sake shops, the shelters where the floats or Yatai of the famous Takayama Festival are stored, and the Nakabashi Bridge over the Miyagawa River. A really interesting experience, which made me want to visit this lovely place as soon as possible. He‘s a very friendly and knowledgable guy who speaks English, Italian and Japanese. The picturesque old town is amazing ! He‘ll also show you some sake breweries and the place where the huge ‚floats‘ are kept for the Takayama festival twice a year.
