Ervaar de Off Beat en Alternative Tour of Mumbai!

Naar mijn mening hebben toeristen een gids nodig om de verborgen plekken van een stad te verkennen en niet de typische toeristische plekken. Mijn tour is volledig gebaseerd op het tonen van de niet-toeristische en off beat plekken in Mumbai. Ik begin de tour met het verkennen van de grootste bloemenmarkt van Mumbai, en verder gaan we naar een 800 jaar oud vissersdorp (oorspronkelijke inwoners van Mumbai) midden in de stad door te pendelen in een stadsbus om de busrit te ervaren die door 3 miljoen pendelaars ELKE DAG wordt gebruikt! Daarna gaan we naar een fort (gebouwd in 1675) aan het eind van het dorp. Post dat we op pad gaan om de grootste wasserette in de open lucht (Dhobi Ghat) te verkennen waar dagelijks zo’n 100.000 kledingstukken met de hand worden gewassen. IG - bay_walks

Het is een perfecte plek voor shutterbugs om de kleurrijke Mumbai vast te leggen en we zullen begrijpen hoe religie belangrijk is voor de bloemenhandel in de stad.
Ervaar de grootste openlucht wasserette waar dagelijks ongeveer 100.000 kleding met de hand wordt gewassen. Zie hoe een arbeidsintensieve wasserette op een enorm commercieel niveau draait.

The tour with Samar was unique. We felt safe and comfortable at all times and were also well entertained:-) he answered all our questions and showed us special places we would never have seen without this tour.
They confirmed my appointment for last Sunday, February 18 at 8:30 am No guide showed up and we arrived at 8 am. The worst thing is that they have charged me (€61.16) and have not returned anything to me (at the moment). Not even an apology. They have simply told me that they are studying it. And my plans for that day…broken. At 9:30 a.m. I stopped waiting and contacted Booking.com and... until today. They can't even tell me that I was late or didn't show up because the place of the appointment was the Eros Cinema Imax cinema, a beautiful art-deco building, and I took some photographs while waiting, between 8 and 8.30 am. The date and time in which they were carried out is recorded on them... More tests? More clear ? A breach of contract and damages that go beyond a delay in making decisions: they charge in advance but they do not return the money or apologize, at least for the moment. And days have passed….A very sad experience

The guide did not show up and so far nobody has contacted me. I requested a full refund, so let’s see what happens.

The tour was very interesting. We saw a lot of great things. Arpan is a great guide. He knows a lot of informations of Mumbai. I can really recommend this tour!
Simply amazing. It was our last tour of our trip but easily our favorite one! I wish he could’ve done all our tours through India! And such a good price. He was our only tour guide who did not push us to purchase things or leave a review. He cared more about us truly having a good experience and understanding of his country. He had a lot of knowledge of so many different aspects of not only the locations he showed us but also could answer a lot of questions we had about India in general as well. He was timely, communicated easily and most importantly had a great mix of fun and truth on the tour. Highly recommend!
Usually I do not book any tours, but this tour was an exception an the best decision we made for our start in Mumbay. Everything worked perfect, the communication right from the time I booked until the rest of our stay in India was absolutely excellent! Arpan replyed every question fast and with a warm welcome. He gave us so much usefully advices during our stay. The tour itself was really interesting and we had a lot of fun because Arpan is such a funny, open-minded an sophisticated guy. To walk off the beaten path was so much better than just to visit all the touristic places. Especially Worli totaly got me. Every cent was worth to pay for the tour and we really recommend Arpan as guide and the Off Beat Tour!
Arpan was great- he was very knowledgeable about the history of India and of the places he took us. He began by providing us with context for everywhere we were going to go that day, showing us on a map what the route would look like and why he chose the places he was taking us to. Each place he took us was very interesting and, as promised, slightly different than what you may find from a more generic tour. He was great at answering questions, and ended the tour with a discussion with the group about what it’s like to grow up in India.
A “shouldn’t miss” tour with an excellent guide! Arpan is friendly, knowledgeable, interesting, funny and charming, the whole package. My daughter and I had a wonderful time and highly recommend this tour.
This was an amazing tour. Arpan was an incredible guide, showed us very interesting and less touristy sites, and was great at giving and reviewing information. The tour exceeded my expectations - if not to say that it actually was the best walking tour I took during my week stay in Mumbai. The narration was interesting, the food stop was apt and the timing was perfect (like we got to the final location - the fort - just minutes before sunset, which contributed to taking awesome photos). Do recommend.
