Jodhpur wordt vaak de "Blauwe Stad" genoemd omdat veel van zijn huizen, haveli's (traditionele herenhuizen), tempels en gebouwen in het oude gedeelte van de stad in levendige blauwtinten zijn geschilderd. Deze kenmerkende kleur heeft een historische betekenis en wordt vermoedelijk door de brahmaanse kaste gebruikt om hun huizen van anderen te onderscheiden. De oude stad van Jodhpur is een doolhof van smalle, kronkelende straatjes vol geschiedenis. Als u deze steegjes te voet verkent, ontdekt u verborgen pareltjes en ervaart u de authentieke charme van de stad van dichtbij.

I had wonderful experience today with the great tour guide. He loves his city, Jodhpur. He knows the history of the city, this area very well.
It is a very small patch, most of the people have now changed the colour of their houses. So only 2-3 spots are photogenic. But over all the walk is good, you can experience the true culture of Jodhpur.
Glad we took up this activity and saw a different and unique side of city.Our guide was fantastic with deep knowledge of the history, culture of entire marwar region. It's definitely worth having in top of list of activities to do in jodhpur
