Joya de Ceren staat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO en ligt op slechts 40 minuten van San Salvador. Het belang van Joya de Ceren is dat het de enige archeologische site ter wereld is die laat zien hoe Maya normale mensen leefden. Joya de Ceren werd verlaten als gevolg van de uitbarsting van een nabijgelegen vulkaan en de as van deze uitbarsting bewaarde het dorp voor ons om te verkennen. Tazumal heeft de grootste piramide van El Salvador. zijn gelokaliseerd in Chalchuapa, twee uur rijden van San Salvador. Tazumal is de thuisbasis van 2 grote tempels.

Exceptional tour with Rosa! We wanted to come to El Salvador to explore and this tour hits all of the highlights. Ancient Mayan history, an awesome lunch at the crater of a volcano, and everything we wanted to see and do; all with a charismatic and knowledgeable guide. This tour focuses on a private group and really allows you to go far deeper into the history, culture and country.

The tour was amazing! Luis is the absolute best, if you can get him he will show you a good time. He went out of his way to show us the things we had requested and accommodated my mom’s disability. He also took photos for us and helped translate for us. We had the absolute best day due to him and also Fernando who organized the tour for us was really professional as well. I really liked this tour it was the perfect way to explore El Salvador! One day I just traveled by uber myself and that was way less enjoyable I wish I had booked a tour both days!

If you are interested in archeology and the Mayan life (also Unesco) this tour us perfect for you. Also nice was the lunch break at the volcano lake. Ferdinando was a very good and attentive guide.
