Efeze-tour vanuit Selcuk; als je de ruïnes van Efeze vanuit Selcuk wilt bezoeken, kun je deelnemen aan onze dagelijkse Efeze-tour. House of Virgin Maryis de plek waar Mary haar laatste dagen heeft doorgebracht. Inderdaad, ze kan in het gebied zijn gekomen samen met Saint John. Deze plaats werd officieel uitgeroepen tot heiligdom van de rooms-katholieke kerk in 1986, en sindsdien is het een populaire bedevaartplaats geworden. Paus Paulus VI bezocht het heiligdom in 1967. Het bezoek aan het huis (kerk) duurt ongeveer 45 minuten en na ons bezoek; er zal 5 minuten rijden zijn naar Efeze.
Efeze is een uitzonderlijk getuigenis van de culturele tradities van de Hellenistische, Romeinse keizerlijke en vroeg-christelijke periode. Efeze is een belangrijke site voor het christendom; als een van de zeven kerken van openbaring. Apostel Paulus bracht waarschijnlijk twee en een half jaar door in Efeze tijdens zijn derde zendingsreis. In twee uur zul je de stad verkennen door te wandelen in de marmeren straten, begeleid door onze Engels sprekende gids. Tijdens onze tour zien we Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domatian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, Latriens. Het bezoek aan Private House (zogenaamd bordeel, ‘Terrace Houses’) is een optioneel bezoek voor een extra 25 ₺ / persoon en uw gids moet vooraf worden geïnformeerd. Na Terrace Houses zullen we onze verkenning voortzetten met Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theather, Arcadiane (Harbour Road).
We zullen doorgaan met het bezoek aan Tempel van Artemis; dat is een van de 'zeven wonderen' van de oudheid. Hier is er ook een goede kans om foto's te maken van Church of St.JohnandMosque of İsa Bey vanuit de beste hoek.
Sirince is een oud dorp van ‘Rum’ (Byzantijnse Grieken) gelegen op de heuvels van Selcuk en op 7 km van Efeze. Als onderdeel van het vredesverdrag na de Turkse nationale oorlog (1919-1922) werd een formele uitwisseling van Turken en Grieken overeengekomen en wordt Sirince nu bewoond door Turken. Het dorp is populair vanwege de prachtige traditionele huizen en de wijnproductie met fruitsmaak; en je hebt een vrije tijd voor een wijnproeverij.

Our guide was fantastic, very good-natured and did a great job managing the group which was diverse with some young children and older people so we didn’t move very fast. We would have enjoyed more time in Ephesus which was the main reason we came to the area. We did add the Terrace houses (paying additional 15€ each onsite when asked if anyone wanted to stop there - it’s inside the ancient city) though nobody else in the tour did this. We thought it was super interesting to see what an actual Roman house and village looked like. But had to zoom through it since timing so tight and this took even more time away from the short duration to see Ephesus ruins.

Booked through Get Your Guide with this company. Excellent day trip. Gulay, our guide, was extremely informative and spoke excellent English. The tour gave us plenty of time at each of the sites, and also included a very tasty, filling lunch. The bus was clean and spacious. We particularly enjoyed that this was a small group experience as it was also very nice to get to meet the other passengers from a wide variety of countries. Ephesus itself was incredible, such an interesting and enjoyable place to visit. I would advise visitors to wear sensible shoes as the marble sloping walkways are very slippery. The village of Sirence was also very pretty and we enjoyed visiting here as part of the trip. Overall, we felt the trip was well organised and good value for money.
Pick up and drop off to my hotel door were seamless. Our guide Nizam (sp?) was amazing. So nice and knowledgeable. He made everyone feel comfortable and made us laugh the whole day. I’m especially grateful for his timing of the day. He kept us ahead of cruise ship groups and out of the sun at the hottest times of day.
