Shinataro, our guide, was knowledgeable and friendly, a nice way to tour the Market! Do this tour!!!
Rie was delightful and informative and gave us great history and places to stop for best quality and prices.
Wonderful experience. Tour guide spoke excellent English. I am not sure how you could explore the fish market without a guide. There were so many stalls and crowds, it would have been overwhelming. The guide led our group to a good variety of stalls and explained the best items to get at each one. Come hungry! I spent about 7000 yen at the booths, many of which are cash only. The quick visit to the temple before the market was an added bonus for this tour. Beautiful temple and I enjoyed the information shared by our guide and her explanation of the rituals. Also I appreciated that she gave everyone an opportunity to do the rituals but also repeatedly said they were optional, so there was no pressure if it wasn't your thing. Highly recommend.
Having a guide (Isabelle) to take us around the market had so much value for us as it was extremely busy and she took us to sample various street food, had a ton of knowledge about the area and made the experience manageable instead of overwhelming. I would highly recommend!
It would have been helpful to know how many places we were stopping at to buy food. The vendor choices were great.
Nikolai was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable about the market and helpful with ordering good. We had a lot of fun.
I expected to see the operations of an active market, to see actual full fish being traded (inner market). We were guided to various stores (outer market) selling seafood ready to eat. Accepting our guide took us to the better providers, the tour would benefit with a bit of structure, similar to how you might eat, entree, light foods then the more robust. With a focus on eating around the market, it might be useful to advise guests to come hungry. Or ready to indulge in a second breakfast. It's an easy place to explore on your own and avoid a fee
A really nice experience of the Tsukiji fish market. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, would definitely recommend.
Must have about 5000 yen each person to get full experience. Our tour guide Yayoi was great! Two teenage daughters enjoyed too.
The tour was nothing what was written in the brief that we would expect, the temple was a great experience and our guide did tell us a bit of history about the temple. As for the rest of the tour . When I booked it it said we will be in entrenched in the local atmosphere of the market and told about the 80 year history of the markets we were told nothing about the market and we just walked around the stalls which we could’ve done on our own.! Waste of money!
