Een belangrijke attractie voor het paleis die bijdraagt aan de rijke ervaring van toeristen is het Manhyia Palace Museum. Dit museum, hoewel klein van formaat, bezit talloze en historische artefacten, oorlogsamuletten en andere van het Asante-koninkrijk. Het paleis werd geopend in 1995 tijdens de viering van het zilveren jubileum van de toetreding van de Gouden Kruk.
Het museum beschikt over militaire uitrusting, artefacten en andere items die werden gebruikt tijdens de Britse Asante-oorlog van 1990 en de 2e Wereldoorlog. Andere collecties omvatten oorlogswapens, kleuren, medailles, pantserwagens, portretten en foto's. Dit is een bron van waardevol historisch gebouw om terug te verwijzen naar de evolutie en ontwikkeling van Ghana in het koloniale tijdperk tot op de dag van vandaag
Dit museum is misschien klein, maar de persoonlijke rondleiding inclusief toegang is een fascinerende introductie tot de Ashanti-cultuur en geschiedenis. Onder de displays bevinden zich artefacten met betrekking tot de Ashanti-koning Prempeh II, waaronder de oorlogskledij van de koning, ceremoniële kleding, sieraden, beschermende amuletten, persoonlijke uitrusting voor baden en dineren, meubels, koninklijke insignes en enkele fijne koperen gewichten voor het wegen van goud. Gebouwd om op het huis van een Ashanti-chef te lijken, het heeft een binnenplaats aan de voorkant en muren versierd met traditionele gebeeldhouwde symbolen.
De Komfo Anokye Sword Site, ingekapseld in zijn eigen kleine museum, is de plek waar het 'onbeweeglijke' zwaard dat door Okomfo Anokye in de grond wordt gedreven, zit.
Ntonso Adinkra Cloth Village. Ntonso is het thuisland van adinkra-doek en de enige plaats in Ghana waar traditionele adinkra lokaal vanuit het niets wordt gemaakt. Ntonso is nog steeds Ghana's grootste adinkra-producent, een doek beroemd om zijn symbolen en spreekwoordelijke wijsheid
Kente-doek is een legendarische stof die door de eeuwen heen door Afrikaanse koningen werd gedragen. Het doek wordt nog steeds op de traditionele manier gemaakt in Adanwomse in de Ashanti-regio van Ghana. Kente wordt niet alleen gedragen vanwege zijn opvallende ontwerpen, maar ook vanwege zijn symbolische betekenis. Er zijn meer dan 300 patronen, elk met een eigen naam en betekenis afgeleid van spreekwoorden, historische gebeurtenissen, belangrijke leiders en waardevolle planten.

Amazing tours and lovely driver, Jones was super flexible and accommodating to our needs and made super helpful recommendations. Did some Kente weaving! Adinkra symbol printings and many museums sightings too! We had such a good day!
Honestly the best tour I have done in Ghana so far!! Bibiniba Tours is an amazing tour company and worth all your money. I did. the Kumasi City tour with them and they could even add my extra wish to go to Akwasidae festival without any problems. I was picked up from my hotel and brought back and the tour guide Shee and driver Yao always made sure I’m comfortable and answered all my questions about the Ashanti Kingdom. For all people who only are visiting Accra, keep in mind it’s really worth it to make the trip to Kumasi- we visited all the sights in the city centre: Prempreh museum, sword side, Manhyia palace, etc. On top of that we went outside the city to a Kente Village where I could see how Kente is woven and to Adinkra village where I could print my own Adinkra scarf. The guide Shee was super knowledgable and could tell so many stories about Kumasi. The first day went so fine I directly booked a second tour to Boabeng Fieme monkey Sanctuary with them the next day. I highly recommend this tour company - Godfrey, Shee and Yao are a great team. Don’t look any further if you want a great cultural experience and a quality tour.
Honestly, I cannot say enough about Bibiniba Tours. I did a six day tour with this company throughout three Ghana regions! I was impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of our tour guide and the owner of the company, Kofi. He was very personable and accommodating. I had a lot of request and other tour companies told me that it was impossible to do all that I wanted in the time that I had but not Kofi. We literally did everything on my list. I’ve travelled to a lot of places (37 countries) and been on lots of tours but this was seriously thee best tour experience ever. I learned so much about the history, culture and traditions, I was able to immerse myself fully by having Asante traditional naming ceremony, eat the amazing food, get my hair done, get a custom made outfit, shop, check out the nightlife and see all the main attractions in Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast. I took a million pictures and videos lol I also learned a couple of words from the native language. I always felt safe and did not have any issues. Lastly, the name of this company means African child. I wanted to do something with the kids at a local school and when I tell you it was the most heartwarming experience!! Kofi and Aiyana do a lot with and for children in general.. support them! You will not be disappointed. You will have a real authentic and family feeling experience. I am already planning to return and use Bibiniba again- this time with more friends.
Godfrey and his team were simply amazing! I need to call out Josephine especially for being a wonderful tour guide and being flexible to the requirements I had to visit certain places for my research. Godfrey was extremely communicative through the early stages of customizing the itinerary up until I met up with Josephine in Kumasi. Josephine and her colleague were easy to talk to and made the trip even more memorable. It was a full day of one experience after another and we made it back to the airport in time for me to catch my flight back to Accra. I highly recommend booking with these professionals. I know I certainly will be back with my family next year!
I 100% recommend Kofi and his team, after my amazing tour experience in December 2019. The attention to detail and wealth of knowledge was incredible and uplifting. This experience has ignited a thirst for more and I will definitely be booking Kofi and his team, when I return with friends and family in 2020.
