Een van de meest karakteristieke dorpjes van de Cinque Terre met een prachtig plein dat de pixar disney inspireerde om de nieuwe cartoon Luca te maken. We raden ten zeerste aan om te lunchen in de typische restaurants van het dorp.
De enige stad in de 5 Terre die volledig op de heuvel is gebouwd. Helaas hebben we niet de mogelijkheid om aan te meren omdat er geen echte jachthaven is. Het uitzicht vanaf de zee zal echter nog steeds meer dan bevredigend zijn
Het uitzicht vanaf de zee van dit dorp is waanzinnig, dat een prachtige kersttraditie heeft met de reproductie van de geboorte van Christus op de heuvel voor het dorp. We zullen de stad vanaf de zee bezoeken met enkele minuten stoppen voor het dorp om ongelooflijke foto's te maken
De oorsprong van het dorp Riomaggiore, volgens een oude legende die mondeling is overgeleverd maar niet is bevestigd door historische bronnen, gaat terug tot de achtste eeuw. Er wordt zelfs gezegd dat een groep Griekse vluchtelingen, om te ontsnappen aan de vervolgingen van de iconoclastische keizer Leo III Isaurico, na verschillende perikelen op het puntje van Montenero landde en nederzettingen stichtte in het heuvelruggebied. Stop bij de zee om gedenkwaardige foto's te maken met een gekke achtergrond van kleurrijke huizen

Andrea was a great skipper. We motored from a Santa Margherita to his Cinque Terre. The boat was quite luxurious. He taught us about all the small villages along our journey. When we got to Cinque Terre, he had prearranged a lunch in a truely local restaurant - with the best seat in the house. We felt truly spoiled. We stopped for pictures along the way and had lovely conversations and about his love of Italy and the regions z

We had a great time with our captain! He was very flexible with location and time of pick up, and was able to make reservations in advance for lunch at one of the stops. We have a teenager and a 21 year old that loved the cliff diving! I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a personalized experience!!
The best part of Cinque Terra was the trip from Portofino by boat and back to Portofino. We were extremely fortunate to have found Andrea. His personality was delightful and his knowledge of each of the five cities was very extensive. When it was lunch time, he was able to make reservations at a spectacular restaurant with an amazing view, even though the restaurant was already totally booked. It would be hard in our estimation to find a better boat captain to enjoy Cinque Terra. I do not want to neglect mentioning his boat, I did not see a better one, it was clean with beautiful lines and handled the seas in comfort.
