⚠️ Nieuw voertuig vanaf maart 2026! Hallo beste bezoeker, mijn naam is Arnaud en ik zal uw gids zijn in dit prachtige Provence. Van de 5 rondleidingen die ik aanbied, neem ik je vandaag mee naar de Romeinse monumenten van Pont du Gard, Nîmes en Orange. De tour begint in Nîmes met een korte stop voor de Maison Carrée, een voormalige Romeinse tempel, waarna de audiogeleide rondleiding door de Arena van Nîmes volgt. Let op: van november tot en met maart worden er alleen wandelingen door de oude binnenstad van Nîmes georganiseerd om de belangrijkste monumenten te bekijken. We stoppen vervolgens bij de Pont du Gard voor een picknick met lokale producten van lokale boerderijen (alleen van april tot oktober), waarna we een wandeling rond de Pont du Gard maken om te genieten van het prachtige uitzicht op dit monument. Tot slot gaan we naar Orange voor een bezoek aan de Arc de Triomphe en een audiogidsrondleiding door het majestueuze oude theater. Let op: van november tot en met maart wordt het circuit in de tegenovergestelde richting gebruikt.

Reisroute
Na een autorit van 45 minuten vanuit Avignon, een fotostop voor de Maison Carrée in Nîmes, een oude Romeinse tempel gewijd aan de kleinzonen van keizer Augustus. Vervolgens is het 15 minuten lopen naar de arena van Nîmes.
Audiorondleiding door de schitterende arena's van Nîmes, gebouwd rond 100 na Christus naar het voorbeeld van het Colosseum in Rome. Daarna is het 15 minuten lopen naar de auto en ongeveer 30 minuten rijden naar de Pont du Gard. Let op: het bezoek aan de arena's is niet inbegrepen tussen november en maart. Gedurende deze periode zullen we alleen door de stad wandelen om de belangrijkste monumenten te bekijken.
Na een picknick van een uur met uitzicht op de Pont du Gard (alleen van april tot oktober), volgt een wandeling rond de magnifieke en imposante Pont du Gard, die deel uitmaakte van een 52 kilometer lang Romeins aquaduct dat Nîmes van water voorzag. Het werd gebouwd rond het jaar 50 na Christus. Vervolgens een half uur rijden naar Orange.
Fotostop bij de Arc de Triomphe in Orange, met luisterervaring naar audio-opnames die de geschiedenis van het monument vertellen. Vervolgens is het 10 minuten rijden naar het oude theater.
Audiorondleiding door het majestueuze oude theater, gebouwd rond 20 voor Christus. Vervolgens is het ongeveer 30 minuten rijden terug naar het startpunt in Avignon.

Very nice trip. Pont Du Gard was the highlight but Nimes and Orange are also good. Arnaud was very helpful.

Great guide. Well planned day that covered a lot. Loved the Pont du Gard and Orange Theatre best. Authentic lunch but a bit light. Bit squashed with 6 people plus Arlo the guide in the car on a hot day. Overall enjoyed the day. Good value.

Very personalized tour of only 3 guests. The tour guide was very interested in making the tour as enjoyable as possible. The picnic lunch was a pleasant addition to the trip to Pont du Gard. The locations visited were amazing and informative. Loved the tour!
This tour offered some of the best of the best Roman antiquities with the bonus of Provence views! We thought Arnaud laid out the itinerary for Orange, Nîmes and the Pont du Gard perfectly. We could not have accomplished these logistic ourselves nor enjoyed his history lessons along the way. The Arch, Theatres and Amphitheatres were all quite amazing to see. The 2000 year old La Maison Carrée was beautiful. Our lovely picnic at Pont du Gard was lovely and so "Very French"!! Highly recommended.

The sights were worth seeing but the mode of transport was limited and not comfortable. A fairly small car with 6 people and we were stuck in the back with no leg or feet room or much air circulation.
Hello, Thank you for your review and for noticing that I am alone in the company and I have built this business from scratch without any financial aid from the French and European organizations. So you understand why I couldnt’ buy a bus or a van after only 1 year of work. But thanks to your help, I will try to buy something bigger in 1 year or 2, except if the goal of your review is to block people to book my tour and to avoid me to live decently. Anyway, this is not a small car (maybe for your country but here in France we don’t consider it as a small car but a 7-seat car for families). For air circulation in the car, there is something called « window », and guess what, it’s possible to open it! And it’s also possible to ask for more air conditioning. I’ve never bite someone who asked for more air… I mean, not yet! However, you said that the sights were interesting. You should have talked about it instead of developing the negative things (according to what you think but it’s subjective and it’s not what the majority of my clients think). Regards.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with our amazing guide, Arnaud. This tour included all the places on our "must see" list. The added bonus was the lovely picnic lunch with all locally sourced foods. I highly recommend his tours!!
