Het Nyungwe-regenwoud is waarschijnlijk het best bewaarde montane regenwoud in Centraal-Afrika. Het heeft een grote diversiteit aan diersoorten, waardoor het een prioriteit is voor natuurbehoud in Afrika. Reizigers zullen het regenwoud vanuit een nieuw perspectief ervaren: de Canopy Walkway. Hangend 60 meter boven de bosbodem tussen gigantische bomen en torens, biedt de enige Canopy Walkway van Oost-Afrika een prachtig uitzicht op de verbazingwekkende natuur en natuur van het park. The Walkway is toegankelijk als onderdeel van een gespecialiseerde rondleiding langs het Igishigishigi-pad.

Serge was our company during the trip and he was really great at what he does. His ability to make us feel welcomed and at home was amazing. He explained every phase of our journey clearly as well as answering all the questions accurately.
The Canopy Walk and Waterfall tour was wonderful. Our trip organizer was Serge. He did an excellent job linking up with us and transporting us there. Upon our arrival, our guide was Marie Claire, who was very knowledgeable regarding the local fauna and flora, especially the medicinal uses of plants we saw along the way. The views on both the Canopy Walk and the Waterfall Walk were exceptional. Bring a good camera. Don't bring binoculars...the terrain is too close for them to be valuable. You're at ~2400 meters above sea level on the Canopy Walk, so you'll work on the hike. I enjoyed it as I was acclimated...my poor wife, who is visiting from home which is ~150 meters above sea level, didn't enjoy it as much. Both walks were very enjoyable and the staff was excellent. I went to Nyungwe National Park with Serge Placide as a guide. I enjoyed my experience, along with the 12 other people I was with. Prepare to hit the road, because it’s a good 10-hour ride roundtrip.
