A glimpse into everyday Japan

Sandra was a great tour guide, telling us so much about Japan and the places we were visiting. The museum was a great place to visit to see what a small Japanese village would have looked like in the Edo period. The gardens were stunning and would be a great experience for adults and children alike. The visit to the fire ceremony was amazing to see. Thank you for your time and for such a wonderful experience Sandra.

Exceptional personalised tour

Absolutely five stars! We had an unforgettable walking tour of Tokyo with our guide Sandra. She was wonderful with our kids—patient, engaging, and full of fun facts that kept them interested throughout. Sandra took us to fascinating places we would never have discovered on our own, and her local knowledge added so much depth to the experience. The photos she took of our family along the way were fantastic—great memories we’ll cherish. Highly recommend this tour for families or anyone wanting a personal and insightful way to explore Tokyo!

Amazing Shimachi Area cultural tour!

This is an amazing tour! Sandra's passion and knowledge of Japanese culture have infected us. The route arrangement for this experience was very substantial, and we visited several different types of landmarks in the Shimachi area, all of which were very interesting. Especially after visiting the Fire Ceremony in Japanese Buddhist Temple, it was breathtaken. If it weren't for Sandra's guide, as an ordinary tourist we would definitely have missed this experience. Thank you very much for Sandra's guide! If it weren't for the hot weather that day, we might even spent more than 5 hours for this tour.

Hidden nice places with a wonderful guide!

My husband (German) and I (Japanese) joined this tour. I was impressed by the fire ceremony at Fukagawa Fudodo. There were many things to watch at this temple. Each place where Sandra took us was impressive and interesting. As Sandra has been living in Japan for a long time, she told us not only the history of each place but also she was ready to answer general questions about Japanese culture. Maybe she did not mention it because I am Japanese, but I thought that foreign guests should be informed how to behave at temples/shrines and if taking pictures is allowed. Anyway, I recommend this tour with a perfect and friendly guide Sandra! My husband’s comments are as follows: (in German) Vielen Dank für die vielen informativen Einblicke in die japanische Kultur. Es war schön, fernab von den üblichen Touristenattraktionen die vielen Facetten Tokyos zu erleben. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen! Vielen herzlichen Dank für die schöne Tour! (in English) Thank you for the many informative insights into Japanese culture. It was nice to experience the many facets of Tokyo far away from the usual tourist attractions. We will definitely come back again! Thank you very much for the nice tour!

A Most Interesting Experience

I thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour exploring a lesser-known area of Tokyo. Sandra was a most pleasant host and guide, knowledgeable and passionate about Japanese history. The highlights were the fire ceremony at the Naritasan Fukagawa Fudōdō with its spectacular sutra chanting and taiko drumming. The tranquil Kiyosumi Park and Gardens were a perfect ending to the tour.

Unique experience that can't be found anywhere else!

Thank you, Sandra, for this incredible tour! Experiencing the fire ritual has become one of the highlights of my trip in Japan (no pictures in this review because taking photos was not allowed). I have also enjoyed visiting the Edo town museum as well as buying curious treats at the vintage sweets shop. Sandra went above and beyond to make sure I was enjoying myself, she had a lot of interesting facts about the Japanese traditions to share and was happy to answer any questions I had!

Super

We are so happy that we took this tour with Sandra! The tour is very informative, but relaxing. No rush anywhere. logistics excellent, many places of interest in the neighboring areas. The fire ceremony at the temple spiritual and mystical. Sandra knows every detail about history and traditions. We also visited a small market, tried local food, bought local souvenirs. Visited sumo stadium, parks, even participated in wedding ceremony. Had a chance to eat a sumo lunch, just seemed to much for us... Sandra gave us best advises on the other activities we liked to do, helped with route map. In this half day tour we managed to see and experience much more than what whole day bus tours offers. Sandra is warm-hearted person, welcoming, open-minded. We had amazing and memorable day!!!

If you are Japanese, you should visit at least once!

I had been interested in it for a while, but finally I was able to go. I was shown a two-hour course. I learned a lot about Edo town and culture that I seem to know but didn't know until now.
