This is a super enjoyable experience, whether you're an experienced whisky drinker or not. Our host, John, clearly loves what he does. His enthusiasm is infectious and his hospitality genuine. I've drunk whisky for many years and have done tastings before. Yet, I highly recommend this experience as an interesting way to learn about the whisky trade and, more generally, Scottish culture. Ahh, and the drams tasted were very good! Very recommended.

A very good tasting with a very good guide.

We an incredible whisky tasting with John, and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip. We tasted four very different whiskies, each with its own distinct character, palate, and finish; perfectly curated to show the range and complexity of Scottish whisky. John’s knowledge is exceptional, but what truly sets him apart is how fun and engaging he makes the experience. He has an infectious enthusiasm for whisky and a genuine excitement about sharing his expertise. He explained everything in a way that was both informative and approachable, making the tasting enjoyable whether you’re a seasoned whisky drinker or a total beginner. The session never felt rushed or overly technical...just the right balance of learning, tasting, laughing, and discovering new favorites. You could tell John truly loves what he does, and that passion made the entire experience even more memorable. We would highly recommend this whisky tasting to anyone visiting Scotland. While in Edinburgh we wanted to find out and experience some whisky from Scotland. We decided on a guided tasting and we weren't disappointed. Our host was excellent and we tasted and discussed four different types of whisky as a group. All very entertaining and educational

Great whisky tasting with John! We tried 4 different whiskies and as a first timer trying whisky John made it very accessible to everyone. Perfect way to spend 2 hours as the time just flew by!

This tasting experience was absolutely superb. John is a delight to listen to and hearing the history of whisky in Scotland is a delightful experience, as is tasting the variety of whisky from many different regions. Learned a lot about whisky, history, and enjoyed all tastings on offer.

We had an amazing time at our tasting! John was a fantastic guide: he was very knowledgeable about the Waverley, the whiskies we tried, and the history of scotch in general. He did a great job answering our questions, and the whole evening felt very comfortable and personal as well as educational. We all discovered a new favourite as well, thank you John!

He brought the whole evening to life with his passion, humor, and storytelling—honestly, he should be doing stand-up comedy on the side! We tasted four delicious whiskies, each introduced with fascinating tales and Scottish history.
