Ontdek de Royal Mile en zijn geheime steegjes tijdens een tour waar de geschiedenis tot leven komt. Vanaf de esplanade van Edinburgh Castle loopt u door de eeuwenoude, nauwe doorgangen vol geschiedenis, totdat u het Palace of Holyroodhouse bereikt. Je bezoekt iconische bezienswaardigheden zoals Bakehouse Close, Dunbar's Close en James Court, terwijl je leert over de levens van sleutelfiguren zoals Allan Ramsay, David Hume en Patrick Geddes. Tijdens de tour lopen reizigers over de iconische Royal Mile van Edinburgh, van Castle Esplanade tot het Schotse Parlement. Onderweg verkent u enkele van de meest fascinerende en verborgen steegjes van de stad, ook wel closes genoemd, die eeuwen aan geschiedenis herbergen.

We vervolgen onze weg over de Royal Mile; het tweede deel van deze iconische straat staat bekend als Lawnmarket. Hier verkennen we oude steegjes zoals Riddle's Close, Brodie's en Lady Stair's Close.
We komen nu bij de derde straat die de Royal Mile vormt: Hoofdstraat. Hier ontdekken we steegjes als Byre's Close, Old Fishmarket Close en Covenant's Close, terwijl we langs historische plekken komen, zoals de St. Giles' Cathedral en het stadhuis.
We sluiten de tour af door het laatste stuk van de Royal Mile te lopen: Canongate. In dit gebied verkennen we historische steegjes zoals Bakehouse Close, South Gray's Close en White Horse Close. Tot slot sluiten we de tour af bij het Schotse Parlement en de abdij en het paleis van Holyroodhouse.

Great tour! The guide explained both the history of Edinburgh through the closes and the Royal Mile and individual stories of particular closes. There's history, interesting stories, picturesque views and nice walks. It felt like an unapologetically honest account of Edinburgh. One of the best tours I've been to

We toured the alleys of the medieval city of Edinburgh with Javier. We were in a group and had a great time and he was very nice. Lots of historical information, but it conveyed it with such passion that the tour flew by!!! Recommended 100%
