River Falls van Dunn in Ocho Rios is een van de populairste attracties van Jamaica. Het is een natuurlijke waterval die wordt gevoed door een ondergrondse bron. Het is absoluut een van de mooiste plekken die je ooit zult zien. Het beeld-perfecte uiterlijk van deze waterval kan je doen denken dat het door de mens is gemaakt. NB: Dit is alleen voor het vervoer van en naar de attractie, als je eenmaal ter plaatse bent, zal er een entree van $ 25 per persoon voor de tour zijn.

Bij aankomst wordt je begroet door de inwonende ezel van Dunn's River Fall. Zijn naam is Bunny. Zodra je het strand bereikt, begin je met het beklimmen van de watervallen. Je hebt de mogelijkheid om handen vast te houden en een trein te vormen, of je kunt proberen je eigen route naar de top te vinden. Kijk uit voor donker gekleurde rotsen. Dat is een teken dat het misschien erg glad is.

Driver not super friendly. Had to ask him a couple times to turn down the R&B music in the car. Some of it with foul language.

Great place and well worth a visit. We didn’t have the guided tour up the falls but went in at various points for photos but would recommend it Good value for money

Climbing the falls was an amazing experience and our guides were great. The line to get a guide was very long due to a group from a cruise ship tour that came in, but I would not attempt to climb the falls without one - especially if you have children. Mine are seven and nine years old. It’s very tricky and can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. You can skip the line and just play in the Falls with no problem, but if you want to climb it from top to the bottom, a guide is the way to go. There’s no charge for a guide, but they do request a gratuity. There’s also a lovely beach at the bottom of the falls with beautiful water. There’s a small splash pad area with a waterslide, but it was mostly for younger children. My seven and nine-year-old were a bit too big for it. On the way out of the park, there are many local vendors selling crafts, and they can get quite aggressive. It made me a bit uncomfortable. I wish I had a camera in a waterproof pouch to take photos. You can’t bring anything you don’t want to get very wet on the climb. water shoes are required and you can buy decent ones for $10 there. They also have lockers available.

The Falls were magical. Well worth the drive from Negril. Our tour guide and driver, Robert “Bob” Graver, from “Know Jamaica Tours” was fantastic. He arrived early at our hotel and told us all about the various places we saw as we drove to the falls. He even took us to a great road side restaurant for awesome jerked chicken and pork. We really enjoyed this tour and will remember it as one of our best trips in Jamaica.
