Beschrijving
Dit is een tour voor diegenen die fit, flexibel zijn en een gevoel willen krijgen voor de stad, van een local met veel kennis. Ik heb vele jaren in onroerend goed en in de politiek in deze stad gewerkt, dus ik heb nog veel te zeggen! Omdat het echter jouw dag is en je rondreis, leid ik de belangen van de klant en als ik ogen zie verglazen, veranderen we van onderwerp / nemen een pauze / veranderen het plan. Je hebt een gids voor een dag en we maken er het beste van - ik geloof in flexibel en open zijn. Eerdere tours waarbij we van plan zijn gegaan, hebben ons naar treinreizen gebracht, naar de Joodse wijk, een thematische kroegentocht - je bent op vakantie, geen schooluitje!

We beginnen in de prachtige Georgische wijk van de stad, waar u onze musea, galerieën, bibliotheken en parlementair Dublin vindt. We duiken erin voor een korte rondleiding langs de hoogtepunten, over kunst, literatuur en de schatten van ons archeologisch museum. Twee hoogtepunten voor mij zijn een Nobelprijs voor literatuur en het paspoort van WB Yeats! Als je geïnteresseerd bent in James Joyce, zullen we Sweny's bezoeken, een drogisterij die in 1847 werd geopend en weinig veranderde. Het kwam voor in een scène in Joyce's meesterwerk en werkt nu als een Joyce Centre, gerund door vrijwilligers. Af en toe krijgen we hier een liedje voor ons gezongen! En natuurlijk bezoeken we Oscar - Oscar Wilde, een voormalige bewoner van Merrion Square en een beroemde auteur, toneelschrijver en dichter. Er is een fantastisch beeld van hem in het park, dicht bij zijn voormalige huis.
Op weg naar Dublin Castle lopen we een ongebruikelijke route door het centrale district van Dublin. Dit is een route die onze prachtige mix van winkels, pubs, restaurants en historische gebouwen laat zien en een kijkje neemt bij enkele fantastische Georgische plafonds. Dit deel van de tour is meestal ook de tijd dat we een pauze nemen in een van Dublin's sfeervolle oude pubs die goed eten doen en ik heb genoeg suggesties...
Dublin Castle was meer dan 700 jaar de zetel van de Britse overheersing en is een interessant gebouwencomplex. We kunnen de State Apartments bezoeken, de voormalige troonzaal bezoeken en St Patrick's Hall zien waar onze presidenten worden ingehuldigd. Er is ook een Fiscaal Museum voor iedereen die geïnteresseerd is in belasting! De prachtige tuinen aan de achterzijde bieden een welkome ontspannende ruimte en het nabijgelegen restaurant van het Chester Beatty Museum is populair bij klanten.
Op weg naar St Patrick's Cathedral zullen we een kijkje nemen in het stadhuis van Dublin, als dat open is. We passeren ook de beroemdste 'Fish and Chipper' van Dublin, Burdocks. Buiten dit beroemde pand staat een lange lijst van de beroemde mensen die hebben genoten van Dubliner's favoriete frietkraam! (Je kent misschien chips als frietjes!) Daarna lopen we door St Patrick's Park om de grootste kathedraal van Ierland te bezoeken, daterend uit 1195. Dit is een fascinerende plek met graven, monumenten, een gelukkige en droevige geschiedenis en het is een gebouw dat veel betekent voor de meeste Ieren. Johnathon Swift, auteur van Gulliver's Travels, was hier jarenlang decaan en ligt begraven in de kathedraal.
We keren terug naar het centrale gebied via Marsh's Library, de oudste openbare bibliotheek in Ierland, gesticht door aartsbisschop Narcissus Marsh. Je kunt de kooien zien waarin je opgesloten zat als je de boeken wilde lenen en de bibliotheek is als iets uit een Harry Potter-film, en erg charmant. Ik zal je door een aantal interessante straten leiden, voordat ik je verlaat op dezelfde plek waar we elkaar hebben ontmoet - tenzij je de voorkeur geeft aan een andere bestemming. Ik ben behoorlijk flexibel in dingen - ik wil dat je geniet van je dag en een gevoel krijgt voor onze mooie stad en plezier hebt!

Wonderful walking tour. Dairine was a great guide! Provided so much history about Dublin and enjoyed all of the places we visited. She tailored the tour to what she thought was interesting and what we would want to see, which was great! Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if there is any chance of rain. Be aware that the entry fees are not included in the tour price. However, nothing was very expensive. Would not hesitate to recommend this tour or Dairine enough!

Most delightful day with Dairine. She is very knowledgeable and is a great tour guide. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy all day long. But that did not keep us from having a wonderful day touring St. Patrick'sCathedral and the Book of Kell's. Had a great Irish lunch at a local pub together with a Harp beer. Highly recommend this tour.

My family of four did a walking tour of Dublin with Dairine. She is very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and fun! We would have missed many of the sights without her. She packed so much information and sight seeing in just a few hours! We definitely recommend her to show you Dublin!

My wife and I went to Dublin to celebrate my birthday. We decided to book a one day, private walking tour of the city as we wanted to have the flexibility to change the itinerary on the fly and ask questions as we walked around the city. Our guide, Dairine Nuttall, did a fabulous job on delivering Dublin to us on a silver platter. We saw the entire city, walking 12km, and were provided the history and local information on the sights we viewed. Dairine took us to some 'off the beaten track' stops to be educated and entertained with stories of historical and human interest. At the end of the day, we had seen places that we knew we wanted to more thoroughly tour. We were happy to relax at our hotel with a pint of the dark stuff and relive the day and set the schedule of our further exploration for the next day. We cannot recommend Dairine enough, she enabled us to know and embrace the face and fabric of Dublin.

Me and my friend did walking tour of Dublin docks with Dairine and I found the tour to be super helpful. I have been to Dublin for 2 months now and wanted to understand the history and story behind different sculptures and bridges present in the city. Dairine raised in Dublin was sufficiently aware of the city's history and gave us different perspective to look into the city.

Dairine was a wonderful guide. We deliberately arranged our layover to be long enough to allow a quick trip into Dublin. With no time to waste trying to navigate the city ourselves, we decided to book a private tour. We are so happy we did. Dairine is a true professional. She was responsive via email in arranging the tour. She picked us up with no issue at arrivals in her immaculate car, and we were off. She quickly assessed our interests and personalized a tour that was absolutely perfect. We had an ideal mix of the beautiful outdoors and a sampling of museums and landmarks. Her selections fit our time-crunched schedule and suited our style. She discussed topical cultural and political issues and pointed out fascinating details in art, architecture, and archeology. We absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a guided tour. We plan to return to Ireland, next time for a proper stay. When we do, we will certainly book with Dairine again.
