Dubai Evening Desert Safari : Sandboarden, BBQ, Camel Ride & meer

We had an absolute blast on our desert safari, and it was all thanks to our incredible guide, Bahadur! He truly went above and beyond to make sure the entire experience was fun, high-energy, and memorable from start to finish. Not only is he a great communicator who kept us informed and entertained the whole time, but he is also an amazing photographer! He knew all the best angles and spots in the dunes to capture the perfect shots for us. If you are booking this tour, do yourself a huge favor and specifically request Bahadur—he will make your trip unforgettable! 10/10 highly recommend.

There was a glitch in the booking system and we ended up being charged twice for our safari. We made our driver aware of this when he picked us up and said it would be taken care of. The company refuses to refund us for the double booking. While the evening was just OK, the additional charge sours our memories of the evening even more.

I did this trip with my wife and 3 kids 13,11,9. There are loads of companies to choose from we picked this one as it was recommended as quality and trustworthy. Overall we felt it was good value for money. We booked a private 6 seater car and were picked up from our hotel ahead of schedule a couple of hours before sunset. The driver was polite and nice enough, but very hard work to get a conversation out of. From other reviews we'd expected someone engaging and knowledgeable but fair play - they were never sold as tour guides on the website. After half an hours driving we were taken to the desert nature reserve near Margham where we met the other 20 or so cars in our convoy and ushered out - unclear if this was a toilet stop, gift shop stop or what was happening. Turned out it was a museum. It was very nice and informative on the local wildlife showing us what we may see and which creatures lived in the desert. We got round that in 10 minutes then back in the cars and headed into the reserve slowly along a sandy road where we saw a few ibex dotted around and a deer or two. We were beginning to wonder if we'd bought the wrong package. This was very sedate. We we're wrong. Suddenly the driver switched on a banging Arabian sound track, turned off the road onto the dunes and floored it. We spent the next half our or so off-roading up and down the dunes at just the right intensity to thrill kids. There were a few hairy moments but always felt in control. Once done we pulled up to a view point just in time to see the sun set. There was a very informative and funny falconer flying his bird, an Aperol bar, and lots of photo opportunities with the birds, sunsets and some camels. After sunset we headed to a nearby camp which absolutely blew me away. So still and peaceful inside. The camp was a few dozen low rise tables under cover with cushions to sit on. The whole thing wrapped around a centre stage. There was a delicious and endless open fire BBQ buffet, some trinket stalls, and many included activities - henna art, camel rides, sand sledging. For a few hours we were free to enjoy all these as we pleased and watch the show on centre stage with dancing and fire breathing. Finally, full up and well rested we were driven back to our hotel. Over all this was a packed half day of activity and the most memorable part of our holiday. Thanks Arabian Adventures.

I would highly recommend Arabian Adventures. We had Alyas as our host, who was great. He showed us around and looked after us throughout the whole adventure. It was an amazing experience being in the desert and the food and show was great.

What an amazing experience. Our driver was Michael, who was very entertaining and informative. He gave us an awesome ride in the sand dunes and then stopped for drinks in the desert. Held a falcon and rose the camel. An incredible experience and wonderful experience.

I had a wonderful experience in the conservation reserve of Dubai. The agency has more solutions for the evening safari. What I did is honestly very expensive. I can’t say if the surcharge compared to the more affordable evening safari solution has an objective motivation. I can say though that the guide was very pleasant (Khan), speaks fluent English and is a skilled conversationalist. The camp is new and clean, run by the Marriott, the food is great. In hindsight I should have spent the night there.. it will be x next time!!

Usman is very polite guide/driver. He’s easy to chat with on many topics. Most importantly he took excellent care of us respecting our age. The system somehow missed our request for special vegetarian meal but Usman managed to get us a nice vegetarian meal. In brief, he is quite accommodative with respect for the guests!

Absolutely unforgettable experience! 🌅🐪 The Evening Desert Safari was one of the highlights of our trip to Dubai. From the moment we were picked up everything felt smooth, professional, and exciting. The drive into the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve was stunning, even stopping to see the racing camels training, WOW! The sunset stop was breathtaking—watching the sun dip below the dunes was pure magic. We were lucky enough to spot wildlife along the way, which made the safari feel even more special and authentic. The camp was beautifully set up, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The BBQ buffet was delicious with plenty of variety, and the stargazing afterward was the perfect, peaceful way to end the evening. A huge shout-out to Captain Kev, who truly made this experience awesome! His knowledge, friendly personality, and passion for the desert were infectious. He made everyone feel comfortable, shared interesting insights throughout the journey, and ensured we had an amazing time from start to finish. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does. If you’re visiting Dubai and want a memorable, well-organized, and authentic desert experience—this is an absolute must. And if you get Captain Kev as your guide, you’re in for something truly special!

We had so much fun. Even though the sandboarding and camel ride are very short, the whole experience is great. Especially our tour guide Ismail. He was amazing. Helped us take so many great pictures and guided us very well. He made the trip more fun.
