Reis terug in de tijd en ontdek het middeleeuwse erfgoed van Catalonië - geniet van drie duidelijk unieke dorpen en een schilderachtige rit met uitzicht op het natuurpark La Garrotxa tijdens deze privétour. Aankomst in Besalu, een Catalaans middeleeuws juweel dat in 1966 werd uitgeroepen tot Nationaal Historische Artistieke Site. Van grote architectonische waarde, het is een van de meest opmerkelijke erfenissen van de middeleeuwse periode in Catalonië. In Girona verdwalen we door de kronkelende straatjes en bewonderen we de gotische kathedraal en de schilderachtige gotische wijk. Vind je innerlijke rust in Pals en beleef een buitengewoon avontuur door de geplaveide straatjes van dit schattige middeleeuwse dorp uit de 13e eeuw. Daarna brengen we je terug naar je hotel of appartement in Barcelona.

Begin uw dag met het ophalen van hotels of appartementen in Barcelona en reis naar Besalu in een comfortabel voertuig, door het natuurpark La Garrotxa, een vulkanisch gebied. Neem een koffiepauze en begin aan de wandeltocht over het belangrijkste kenmerk van Besalu: de romaanse brug uit de 12e eeuw.
We gaan de gerestaureerde mikveh in, een ritueel Joods bad, en zien de overblijfselen van een middeleeuwse synagoge, gedocumenteerd in 1264, van de Joodse gemeenschap die zich vestigde van de 9e tot de 15e eeuw.

Na Besalu, arriveer in Girona in een comfortabel transport en bezoek de kathedraal van Girona. Uitleg van de buitenkant en gevel en ga naar binnen. Daarna stoppen we voor de lunch in een lokaal restaurant met een gerenommeerde chef-kok.
Wandeltocht door dit charmante dorpje uit de middeleeuwen. Dwaal door de idyllische geplaveide straatjes en kleine pleinen en geniet van het mooiste uitzicht op het landschap vanaf de top van de heuvel naast de Toren van de Uren om de Medas-eilanden, een natuurpark en beschermd gebied, in de verte te spotten. Geniet van een fantastisch panoramisch uitzicht voordat we terugkeren naar je hotel of appartement in Barcelona.

One of the Best Tours We've Ever Taken We had an incredible private tour with We Are Guides Barcelona, exploring the medieval cities of Besalú, Girona, and the charming village of Pals. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Our guide was engaging, knowledgeable, and passionate, bringing each location to life with fascinating stories and insights. The driver was professional and courteous, and we rode in a spotless, brand-new Mercedes van that made the journey comfortable and smooth. The towns were great but the guides were playing on their phones for the drive up and back instead of using this time to enrichen the tour with some history facts. We had two guides and the trainer should have spoken to the trainee about these failures. Also when you are leading a tour group you never should walk off ahead when the group is not ready or told they were moving. I feel the two guides were more interested in talking with each other than leading the tour. This tour was about historical towns and the two minute discussion at each fell far short of the mark. If you want a drive into the mountains this is a good opportunity but if you want to learn about these towns avoid this company.

Really fantastic tour of Besalu, Girona and Pals. The medieval towns are each charming and beautiful to see. The tour was filled with interesting history of each town. Our guide was excellent, and the lunch was delicious in a delicious local restaurant. It was a great day!

Feliciano was a wonderful guide, he took us to Besalú first, charming old town. We told him we had been to Girona the same day we went to the Dalí Museum. He didnt want us to see the same town twice, so he took us to Tossa. The old town was great and found out that Ava Gardner made the movie Pandora in 1950 in that town. Then we had a wonderful lunch in town.

What a fabulous day we had with Miguel. His commentary was thorough and insightful. We enjoyed each of the towns that we visited, as well as the rides in between towns. The local luncheon is something that we will remember forever. I highly recommend this tour as a way to see Eastern Spain outside of Barcelona. Hats off!
Feliciano was a great tour guide. Knew history and current events and was able to meld them together into a compelling story. Without him it would have been just looking at some old stuff.
Our tour guide was Feliciano. He was very charming, punctual, professional and a pleasure to be around. He was always explaining the history, social fabric and hidden wonders of these beautiful towns. Our tour was in early April and the weather was perfect at 20 degrees Celsius. The canola fields were all in flower and together with the olive tree plantations and diverse natural vegetation the drive was all the more enchanting to these breathtaking towns. Lunch was delicious and authentic. This was my favourite tour taken in Barcelona.
So much to see and experience on this tour, the villages are unbelievable and so much history, brought to life by the guide Feliciano, The Lunch was really good and we all had lots of fun.

Feliciano spoiled us! The meeting point was easily located. The towns we visited were unique among themselves. Feliciano is one of the best guides I have had the pleasure to travel with. His knowledge base about Spainish history is profound. Architecture, art, music , literature and an accurate timeline come easily to him. In addition he discusses current social and political issues and their impact on communities in and around Spain. He is entertaining, has a great sense of humor and certainly is concerned about the welfare of his clients. The locations were lovely and full of history. Your camera will not get a rest! Lunch was delicious with large variety of choices, great service and incredible flavor! The drive was beautiful with the snow covered peaks of the Pyrenees in May. I would definitely recommend this trip to see the Northern most part of the country and enjoy a different pace from the city.
