Proef de smaken van Zuid-Florida terwijl we je buiten de gebaande paden brengen naar lokale restaurants. We helpen je op weg met een traditioneel Cubaans guave- en kaasgebak terwijl je geniet van het uitzicht op het water. Dat is waar onze foodtour over gaat... lokale smaken, lokale verhalen, lokale bezienswaardigheden. Het voelt alsof je door het centrum van West Palm Beach loopt met een local die je meeneemt naar hun favoriete restaurants en je onderweg voorstelt aan leuke chef-koks en restauranteigenaren. Over wandelen gesproken, je loopt in totaal 2,5 mijl in 2,5 uur, dus verwacht ongeveer 3 blokken te lopen tussen elk restaurant. Onderweg delen we enkele gekke verhalen uit ons verleden en leren we over de levendige muurschilderingen in de stad. Ter info: we gaan zitten in alle restaurants en er zijn toiletten beschikbaar.
Op weg naar Pistache French Bistro lopen we door ons prachtige park aan het water en delen we een stukje geschiedenis van ons gebied. Pistache French Bistro is een van de oudste restaurants in het centrum en we zullen genieten van een traditionele croque monsieur terwijl we dineren in een prachtig restaurant met uitzicht op het park aan het water.
Salento Coffee is een favoriete lokale coffeeshop en is eigendom van een echtpaar uit Colombia. Jaime laat onze gasten zien hoe ze een bepaald type Colombiaanse koffie kunnen maken, en dan delen we allemaal samen in een heerlijke Colombiaanse traditie.
Het is tijd voor het tonen en vertellen van tropisch fruit en je proeft en leert over kokosnoten, tamarindes en key limes. Geniet van een demonstratie van het snijden van kokosnoten die memorabel belooft te worden. I had an excellent experience with Raheem, he was very informative, fun, helpful, and friendly. The food was amazing, there was a variety of food, drink, and dessert to try including a cuban pastry, fish taco, ice cream, French ham sandwich, dumplings, meat skewer and veggies, fresh coconut and tamarind juice, and key lime tart. They were sample sizes of each of the items so I thought it was a good portion of foods so that you won't feel overly stuffed at the end. Overall, I did think it was pricey but it was nice to stroll through downtown to try all of the food and learn about the history the area. I would recommend to book this tour earlier in the trip just in case you would like to go back to visit one of the restaurants, we ended up going to Shanghai'd for dinner!
