Maak een reis van 10 uur van Porto naar de Dourovallei, een UNESCO-werelderfgoed dat bekend staat om zijn adembenemende landschappen en beroemde wijnen. Begin met een stop in Amarante, een stad rijk aan geschiedenis en architectuur. Bezoek vervolgens Quinta do Seixo voor een begeleide Port wijntour en proeverij, omgeven door een prachtig uitzicht op de wijngaard. Geniet van een traditionele Portugese lunch en geniet van authentieke gerechten die de smaken van de regio benadrukken. Daarna kunt u ontspannen met een Rabelo-boottocht en de schilderachtige schoonheid van de vallei bewonderen vanaf de rivier de Douro. Eindig uw reis in het Olijfoliemuseum, waar u kunt genieten van proeverijen van wijnen, olijfolie, honing en amandelen en de iconische smaken van de regio kunt ontdekken. I went on this day tour with my dad who doesn’t really drink wine and he still loved it! Joao was fantastic! We had a great group of people and the wineries were beautiful. Definitely worth it to do!

The Douro Valley was everything I hoped it would be and more! From the breathtaking scenery and picturesque vineyards to the river cruise, wine tastings, and delicious lunch, every part of this tour was thoughtfully planned and enjoyable. Our trip to Douro Valley was amazing! Joao was an incredible tour guide, ensuring not only that we had an enjoyable and memorable experience, but also ensuring that we understood both the charm and the history of all we were seeing. Joao was such a wonderful and knowledgeable guide and driver. He knew almost as much as the vineyard workers did at Croft about the wine and history, found a very interesting stop on the way to the valley (Amarante), had a great lunch spot picked out for us, and a nice local wine/honey/olive oil purveyor for our other stop. Joao even showed us a couple local places we discussed on the way to the valley and dropped us newr the train station instead of our hotel at our request so we could see more of town. If you're looking for friendly, personable, local, and knowledgeable, then go no further than Meridian4People and Joao. Thanks for a great day!

Great experience, totally recommended for those who want to know the Douro Valley in a single day. The meeting point was very easy to find and was perfectly organized. Our guide, Ricardo, made a significant difference in the experience: always kind, approachable, and willing to share information about the places visited, answer questions, and provide interesting historical and cultural details about the region. The visits to the wineries were excellent. In the first one, we tasted three magnificent Port wines, while in the second one, we were able to try local wines and high-quality olive oils. Both visits were very well prepared and allowed us to better understand the winemaking tradition of the Douro. The lunch was abundant, tasty, and lived up to the excursion. As a perfect complement, the boat ride on the Douro River offered a different and spectacular perspective of the valley, allowing us to closely appreciate its impressive landscapes and terraced vineyards. In summary, it was a very complete experience, well organized, and with excellent value for money. Thank you very much, Ricardo, for making this day such a special memory. Without a doubt, we would repeat the experience and recommend it to anyone visiting Portugal.
