Alex and Sandra were absolutely phenomenal guides! Our group of five couples booked with them on short notice, and they could not have been more accommodating. From the very beginning, they made us feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. We spent over 10 unforgettable hours exploring Amarante and the beautiful Douro Valley with them. Their knowledge of the region, history, wine, and local culture made every stop fascinating, but what truly stood out was their kindness and genuine warmth. It felt less like a tour and more like spending the day with old friends who were proud to share their home with us. They also took us to a wonderful local restaurant for lunch where we were warmly welcomed and treated to an authentic experience we never would have found on our own. Ending the day with a relaxing boat cruise through the Douro Valley was the perfect finale. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. We cannot recommend Alex and Sandra highly enough!
Sandra and Alex were wonderful! Their vehicle was comfortable and spotless. The vineyard they chose grew one of the best ports in the area, and it was beautiful. Any question or concern we had was addressed and being with them for the day was a pleasure!

Check the vehicle. It was so small super hot and uncomfortable for 4 adults. Also, the “tour” was just a driver with no knowledge of the stops. Would not recommend this tour without checking. Disappointed.

Alex was there to greet us upon our arrival in Porto. He took us around and explained all of the history of the town while stopping to explore. We spent some time in the marketplace and walked over the bridge where he was waiting to take us to the wine tour. Unfortunately, the powers was out in the city so the tour was cancelled. Alex quickly pivoted and took us to a magnificent local restaurant where we wined and dined on grilled local seafood and steaks. We arrived promptly back to our ship after stopping along the beautiful coastline to take photos. Alex was an integral part of this amazing day. I highly recommend the Bear Tours.

Alex was the best guide ever. He’s from Porto and knowledgeable– he taught us a lot about Porto, the surrounding areas and the people of Porto! He gave so many recommendations too. We needed way more time in Porto. He curated the tour to our needs which was perfect because we have a 1 year old daughter. He was so fun and kind with her. We can move a little slow lol Alex went above and beyond for us. We know he will always be a friend for us when we are in Portugal ❤️❤️❤️ We love you Alex!!!
