Ervaar tijdens deze tour door de Koreaanse gedemilitariseerde zone vanuit Seoul de realiteit van de turbulente geschiedenis van Korea terwijl je de lijn verkent die Noord-Korea en Zuid-Korea scheidt. Sites die je zult bezoeken zijn Imjingak Park, de Freedom Bridge, de 3e infiltratietunnel en de DMZ-tentoonstellingshal.

Imjingak Park is het dichtstbijzijnde punt van de DMZ toegankelijk voor burgers en een krachtig symbool van Korea's hoop op hereniging. Verken historische bezienswaardigheden zoals de Vrijheidsbrug, het Mangbaedan-altaar en de door oorlog beschadigde stoomlocomotief, terwijl je leert over de erfenis van de Koreaanse Oorlog en het verhaal van een verdeelde natie.
Je wordt dan naar het Dora Observatorium gebracht, waar je een verrekijker kunt gebruiken om Noord-Korea te verkennen. Luister naar je gids en leg de levensstijl over de rivier uit terwijl je het dorp Kijongdong observeert.
Stap weer in de bus en ga naar de 3e infiltratietunnel, gelegen onder de grens van Noord-Korea en Zuid-Korea. Lees hier meer over de rol van deze tunnels, die door Noord-Korea als militaire invasieroute zijn gepland. Kijk waar de Zuid-Koreanen de feitelijke militaire demarcatielijn hebben geblokkeerd met betonnen barricades.

Together with my family, we had a great private DMZ tour with Lily. Lily is a very engaging and knowledgeable guide that explained us the history of the Korean War and the DMZ. Pick up at our hotel was very convenient with a very comfortable van. Highly recommended.

Sally is a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide providing interesting facts and background knowledge before each hotspot. You have at least 15 to 20 minutes to explore each spot. With Sally’s clear reminders and explanations, the trip is truly remarkable and rewarding. Highly recommend trying the makgeoli.

I can't recommend this DMZ tour highly enough, and much of that is thanks to our wonderful guide, Sally. Visiting the DMZ is a surreal experience: it's not every day you stand on the border between two countries that are technically still at war. The tour took us to the Dora Observatory, where we could see North Korean territory firsthand through telescopes (it's eerily quiet there), and the walk through the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel was both physically challenging and deeply moving. You truly feel the tension and history that shape this peninsula. Sally told Korea's story with such passion and emotionals, balancing the difficult wartime history with the hope of reunification. She was incredibly organized, cared about the safety of everyone involved, and answered all our questions patiently and with a smile. If you're visiting Seoul, skip the shopping malls for a day and take this trip. It's a powerful, educational, and impressive experience. And if you can, ask for Sally.
