Leer meer over de geschiedenis, cultuur en keuken van de regio terwijl u lokale delicatessen en wijnen proeft. Wandel door de oude straatjes met een lokale gastronomische Gids terwijl elke halte meer onthult dan alleen smaken. Ontdek de verhalen van de mensen die ze hebben gevormd, de zee die hen inspireerde en het land dat hen koesterde. Van de Middellandse Zeebries tot de gedurfde Morlacken van het achterland, en zelfs de machtige Turken wiens culinaire erfenis nog steeds sist in de keukens van Zadar. Het ontmoetingspunt is op de meest natuurlijke startplaats voor een rondleiding, naast de oude stadspoort en de Romeinse zuil die het begin van de hoofdstraat markeert.
De eerste stop is naast de kerk die een van de belangrijkste en meest gerespecteerde religieuze schatten van het land verbergt. Op een steenworp afstand, zullen we proeven van lokale visgerecht in combinatie met regionale witte wijn.
Langs het centrale plein, het centrum van het stadsleven in Zadar sinds de middeleeuwen waar de stedelijke identiteit van de stad vorm kreeg, en waar de eerste bars al in het begin van de 18e eeuw openden.
We bezoeken de lokale markt, waar de lokale bevolking dagelijks gevangen vis en lokaal geteelde groenten verkoopt. Ernaast liggen de overblijfselen van een oude kerk, nu omgetoverd tot een koele en unieke wijntuin. Daar proeven we lokale prosciutto en kaas, gecombineerd met een rijke rode wijn.
Wandelen langs de hoofdstraat van de oude stad - Kalelarga - waar al sinds de Romeinse tijd op gelopen wordt.
We stoppen bij de belangrijkste culturele site van de stad, het grootste Romeinse forum aan de oostelijke Adriatische Zee. Je hoort verhalen over het stadsleven in de oudheid en leert over de dynamische geschiedenis van Zadar
De smalle straatjes van de wijk Varoš bieden een duidelijk kijkje in de levendige stedelijke cultuur van Zadar. Gesticht in de 16e eeuw door hardwerkende families, blijft het een levendig deel van de stad. Hier proberen we ćevapi en genieten we van lokaal gebrouwen ambachtelijk bier gemaakt door vrouwen.
Bij de laatste stop van onze tour, in een traditionele bar, proosten we op de gemaakte herinneringen en de vriendschappen gevormd met een selectie van lokale likeuren. Živjeli! [Proost!]

So worth the money! Inis did an amazing job of showing us old town through history and food. Hands down this is a must do with in Zadar! The group size is perfect to hear and experience the tour. It will leave you wishing there were more hours together to experience the city and culture.
This was such a fun way to spend an evening in Zadar. Our guide, Ines, was knowledgeable and clearly loved sharing the local food and culture with us, every stop felt well thought out and gave us a real taste of what makes this region special. The cuttlefish with black risotto, made with the cuttlefish’s own ink, was an absolute standout, still one of my favorite bites of the whole trip. The food overall was delicious and the wine pairings were a nice touch. Great way to get to know Zadar beyond just sightseeing, would recommend to anyone visiting. We travel and create content full time with our company, Worth Every Mile Travel Co., and this tour is going straight on our list of favorites to share.
This was an amazing tour showing off the history of Zadar, and the influence each empire that took over this stretch of land had on the food and wine. The tour guide, Ines, was so lovely and friendly and made the tour fun with her knowledge of the history of the town and in the food and drink and we were shown areas of the town that we would have probably just walked past. The addition of the wine glass carrier was brilliant allowing you to enjoy your wine on the go between stops! We did this on our first day which has given us ideas on where to go for meals on our stay.
The food was not "FRESH " Desserts were "EXPIRED" VERY BAD " experience!!!!!!!!

However, we'd like to clarify one point: the dessert served on our tour is traditional Dalmatian dried figs, which are intentionally dried and preserved in the traditional way. They are not expired, but an authentic local delicacy that has been enjoyed in this region for generations. Excellent food tour. Husband is a chef so we try to do one of these in new cities. Got to experience nice restaurants and smaller ones for street food/bites. A little wine glass holder souvenir came with the tour. Would highly recommend doing this again!

Absolutely stand out tour - a wonderful way to see Zadar, get some history about the city, and sample some spectacular food and drink. Amazing city walk with a phenomenal guide. Just enough information about Zadar's long history. Several stops with food and wine at nice restaurants. We were only three participants so the evening was longer than expected and filled with nice conversations about big and small. Don't miss this tour!
