Dit is geen standaard tour die door een workshop is samengesteld: het is een reis die persoonlijk is ontworpen door Basso Lanzone, een officiële gids met jarenlange ervaring in het verkennen van elk gebied van La Palma. Elke parade is geselecteerd na talloze bezoeken, waarbij alleen locaties zijn uitgekozen die schoonheid, authenticiteit en de mogelijkheid om emoties op te roepen combineren. In tegenstelling tot andere standaard reisroutes, beleef je hier een evenwichtige mix van cultuur, natuur en de kracht van een recente vulkaanuitbarsting. Bezoek de historische stad Santa Cruz, die is uitgeroepen tot Bien de Interés Cultural (cultureel erfgoed); geniet van het unieke uitzicht op La Cumbrecita in het Parque Nacional de la Caldera de Taburiente; en ga op zoek naar de vulkaan Tajogaite, getuige van de uitbarsting van 2021, door de nieuw aangelegde weg over de lava te volgen. Ontmoetingspunt – Bord met de tekst "Chili nitraat" We beginnen onze reis in Santa Cruz de La Palma, waar we het iconische historische bord "Nitrate de Chile" tegenkomen, precies aan het begin van Calle O'Daly. Dit karakteristieke punt markeert de ingang van de meest betoverende laan van het eiland. Van hieruit neemt uw lokale gids u mee door het hart van de hoofdstad en vertelt hij of zij verhalen over het uithangbord, de koloniale geschiedenis van de straat en de rol van het papier als levendige levensader van de lokale bevolking. Het avontuur biedt kleurrijke gebouwen, levendige cafés en een gastvrije omgeving die typisch is voor La Palma.
Santa Cruz de La Palma – Wandel door de historische helm We lopen door Calle O'Daly en betreden de historische helm, die perfect bewaard is gebleven en waar de tijd lijkt te hebben stilgestaan. Tacande y volcán Tajogaite We zijn al een heel eind op weg, en het verste punt dat we nog willen bereiken is de Tajogaite-vulkaan, die is ontstaan tijdens de uitbarsting van 2021. We zullen de nieuwe weg volgen die dwars door het rampgebied is aangelegd, langs lavavelden, begraven levens en een landschap dat voorgoed veranderd is. Het contrast tussen de groene littekens en de zwarte littekens is onoverbrugbaar. Uw gids zal de persoonlijke ervaringen en verhalen delen van degenen die de gebeurtenis hebben meegemaakt, en zo de verwoestende kracht en veerkracht van de Palmero-bevolking overbrengen.
El Paso – Vrije tijd om te slapen en terug te keren We ronden onze excursie naar El Paso af, het bruisende hart van de palmengemeenschap. Hier heeft u alle tijd om te dineren, een kopje koffie te drinken of gewoon een wandeling te maken en van de omgeving te genieten. Je kunt er typische gerechten proeven, kleine ambachtelijke winkeltjes bezoeken of een praatje maken met de bewoners en de gastvrijheid ervaren die het eiland kenmerkt. After some obstacles with a sick guide and waiting for the fellow passengers of a ferry we left for a very special trip. A super-enthusiastic guide gave us an explanation of the most recent eruption and formation of a new volcano on this particularly beautiful island. What an impact nature had. The lives of several hundred people were drastically upended. Burying their house under feet of jet-black lava. Some houses that were just spared. The guide who admitted that it provides extra employment for him. The weather that didn't play a role when we wanted to go to the national park. A mass of clouds that then turned the program into an extra tour in Santa Cruz...you notice it a very nice day.

It's a versatile though tight scheduled view around certain parts of the island. You'll experience the busy life of Santa Cruz de la Palma as well as the beautiful landscape and the vulcanic history live and in colour. Beware of tight curvy roads and a dynamic driving experience on the bus.
This was a last minute decision as another excursion had been cancelled. So didn't know what to expect but I'm so glad I did! Our local guide was wonderful (wish i could remember her name) We had a short but real authentic tour around Santa Cruz before the bus journey up into the island, where the enormous impact of living on top a volcanic island can be seen (and no amount of questions phased her). I booked a 14 night through First Choice part of the Tui Group. I flew from Manchester Airport where I was looked after extremely well . On arrival I had a transfer to the 4 star hotel Las Olas 10 to 15 minutes from the hotel. Although there was some air traffic being January there was less than at other times of the year not that I had a problem. The hotel was rated 3 star plus which I think was right. I would recommend to pay a little extra and have a sea view room. I was fortunate to have room on the 2nd floor (English 1st floor) and I took my case up the incline to my room. I don’t think the hotel had any porters. I noticed people struggling to get their cases up the steps to the next floor. It is quite steep and might be an issue for someone with walking difficulties. My accommodation was large with a kitchen and l had a beautiful view of the pool area and the sea. The vast majority of clients were 60 plus and I estimated around 80 % German . Pleasant outside area 2 adult pools one slightly heated and a children’s pool. Bar and restaurant were okay. Food I found to be average and not hot. The island is fantastic and Santa Cruz the capital quite beautiful.Beaches are black sand and the first one 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Close to the hotel are a couple of supermarkets and restaurants and bars

The confirmation mentioned 2 meeting points, which was very confusing and annoying. 1st point we were well in time, but no one saw a guide at that time. Then ran to other point (10 min further) no one either. Eventually 2 x have to call to contact and time passed. Had to go to 1st point again. At lunch there was only a choice of fish or pork. No alternative without paying extra. Furthermore fantastic and impressive tour with committed and experienced guide! Very good!

One day was insufficient to see something of the Palm, an excellent guide, Roxi, good weather and taken full advantage, we will return, we are left wanting, but one day does not give for more than what we did that was much and taken advantage of

Lovely tour showing Santa Cruz from high above and then around lava fields and southern part of the island. Tour had two starting points harbour and the city. Different starting time should be informed to the city. Now there was useless half an hour waiting time in the city for no reason.
