Ga met ons mee op een wandeltocht door het historische centrum van Salerno. Als uw lokale gidsen en vrienden laten we u graag de geschiedenis en de lokale plekjes van onze geboortestad zien! Salernum werd gesticht door de Romeinen in de 2e eeuw voor Christus, maar de belangrijkste periode voor de stad was in de middeleeuwen. In deze tijd was Salerno een van de belangrijkste steden van de Middellandse Zee, hier werd rond het einde van de 9e eeuw na Christus de eerste medische school ter wereld gesticht. Samen zullen we de geschiedenis en de architectuur van de middeleeuwen ontdekken met een bezoek aan de kathedraal van Saint Matthew, een spectaculair voorbeeld van Arabisch-Normandische architectuur. Deze kerk bevat ook een prachtige crypte in barokstijl. We geven je ook graag enkele tips waar je lokaal kunt eten en waar je op authentieke plekken een glas wijn kunt drinken. Dit is ook een geweldige tour voor een introductie en oriëntatie van alle schoonheden van de kust van Amalfi, Paestum, het eiland Capri, Pompeii enz.

In deze tour zien we het historische centrum van Salerno. We bezoeken de openbare tuinen, de belangrijkste pleinen van het historische centrum (Piazza Sedile del Campo, Piazza Abate Conforti, Piazza Flavio Gioia), de Lombardische en Normandische gebouwen, het monumentale complex van Sint Peter, de Sint-Mattheuskathedraal en zijn barok crypt. Op verzoek kunt u de tuinen van Minerva, het middeleeuwse kasteel, het Diocesan Museum en het Archeologisch Museum bezoeken

Beautiful old city that is overlooked. Roberto is friendly and knowledgable. We learnt so much and it was fun for a few hours before dinner. The history is there if you go looking, but not commonly discussed . Not touristy at all, but enjoyable learning experience.
