De eerste aanblik op de tour is de Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, die echt een meesterwerk is van de wereldarchitectuur. Het duurde 6 jaar om het op te richten en in 2001 werd het met succes geopend. Deze moskee is een traditioneel, licht islamitisch gebouw gemaakt van zandsteen en marmer. Het heeft 5 minaretten - één hoofd- en 4 zijminaretten die een speciale onderscheidende look creëren. Het interne ontwerp is rijk aan mozaïeken, enorme handgemaakte Perzische tapijten en kroonluchters versierd met kristallen.

Dat is een ideale plek als je het gewone leven van Oman wilt bekijken. Ga gewoon langs de rijen, zoek naar de items, koop en heb plezier, want hier kunt u alles vinden, van kruiden die traditionele tapijten, vazen of gewoon souvenirs maken.
Woonplaats van Sultan Qaboos. Van beide kanten omringen de forten het paleis, dus je zult waarschijnlijk genieten van het prachtige landschap. Gelegen in het centrum van de stad, trekt het altijd veel bezoekers en hoewel mensen niet naar binnen mogen, kunnen ze gemakkelijk rondgaan en coole foto's maken.
Bait Al Zubair is een culturele stichting die aanvankelijk begon met een privémuseum dat in 1998 zijn bewerkte houten deuren voor het publiek opende. Het wordt gefinancierd door de oprichters, de familie Zubair. In 2005 richtte de familie de Bait Al Zubair Foundation op als de culturele en sociale tak van het familiebedrijf, The Zubair Corporation. De Stichting beheert de culturele ruimte en ontwikkelt projecten op het gebied van cultuur en erfgoed, kunst, gemeenschap, geschiedenis en uitgeverij. Bait al Zubair toont de collectie Omani-artefacten van de familie die een aantal eeuwen beslaat en wordt beschouwd als de mooiste die in particulier bezit is. De etnografische artefacten weerspiegelen zeer gespecialiseerde, overgeërfde vaardigheden die de samenleving van Oman bepalen, zowel in het verleden als in het heden. Het is een van de architectonische iconen van het land en was in 1999 de trotse ontvanger van de Award for Architectural Excellence van Zijne Majesteit Sultan Qaboos, de eerste keer dat deze in Oman werd uitgereikt.

We had an amazing tour discovering Muscat. The beautiful Opera House, Mutrah Fort, Museum and Palace, and the incredible Muscat Mosque. It has to be seen to be believed. Our tour guide Mahmoud was so informative, and gave us a wonderful introduction to the history of Muscat. Mahmoud is an exceptional guide. A great ambassador for his country. We enjoyed this tour very much.
