Treed in de voetsporen van Mattie, Naomi, Sebastian en Mervin tijdens deze Death in Paradise tour in Guadeloupe, vertrekkend vanaf de cruiseterminal in Pointe-à-Pitre. Drinken waar ze dronken, lopen waar ze liepen en eten waar ze aten. Je wordt begeleid door iemand die een figurant was in seizoen 14 en 15 van de serie. U heeft de mogelijkheid om te lunchen in Catherine's Bar of gewoon genieten van een uur vrije tijd in het dorp Honoré.

Cruiseterminal Pointe-à-Pitre: Onze chauffeur en gids wachten u op vanaf 8:30 uur in de buurt van het VVV-kantoor en de winkels (Terminal 1) van de cruiseterminal met een bord met uw naam. Nadere informatie zal op een later tijdstip worden verstrekt.
Uw gids neemt u mee op een schilderachtige rit langs de kust. U rijdt langs het prachtige strand waar elk jaar tijdens de filmperiode het huis van de inspecteur aka “shack” staat opgesteld. Uw gids beschrijft de scènes die op deze site zijn gefilmd en de moeilijke opnameomgeving voor de acteurs. Let op: het huis van de inspecteur is alleen zichtbaar van mei tot augustus.
Uw gids neemt u vervolgens mee naar de botanische tuin in het dorp Deshaies, ook bekend als Village Honoré. Tijdens dit gratis bezoek van een uur kunt u een prachtige verzameling waterlelies bewonderen, een vijver vol koikarpers, het dorp van papegaaien en lori's ontdekken en de majestueuze Talipot palm, uniek in Guadeloupe! Je krijgt ook de kans om de aanwezige dieren te voeren! Een privévilla in de tuin was het decor voor de scène waarin de eerste detective van de serie, Richard Poole, vermoord werd aangetroffen (de villa is niet open voor bezoekers).
U vervolgt uw excursie met een bezoek aan Port Honoré, waar alle scènes die verband houden met het vertrek of de aankomst van een boot, of verwijzen naar een haven, werden gefilmd. Je ontdekt een subliem uitzicht op de dorpsbaai, de kerk en een verre glimp van Catherine’s bar. Het is een sublieme plek voor souvenirfoto’s. Vergeet je camera of smartphone niet!
Je gids neemt je mee op een wandeltocht door het historische centrum van Honoré village, waar je verschillende filmlocaties ontdekt: de kerk, Catherine’s eerste bar, enz. Je leert over de beperkingen van het filmen en wat er achter de schermen gebeurt.
Uw Gids neemt u vervolgens mee naar het Honoré politiebureau voor een fotostop. Dit is de enige permanente filmlocatie die exclusief gewijd is aan deze misdaadserie. Uw Gids zal de geschiedenis van de site en de rol die het speelt in de serie uitleggen. Als het open is op de dag van uw bezoek, bent u van harte welkom om wat tijd te nemen om het te verkennen. Bezoeken zijn meestal toegestaan van december tot april. U betaalt ter plaatse voor het ticket (€15 of $20).
Na deze stop aan de Catherine’s Bar heeft u 2 opties : 1. Lunch in Catherine’s Bar : Om ervoor te zorgen dat u de meest plezierige ervaring mogelijk heeft, wordt het menu per e-mail naar u verzonden, zodat u van tevoren kunt bestellen en tijd bespaart op de dag. We reserveren dan een tafel voor de groep. Deze optie is niet beschikbaar op woensdagen en feestdagen (Kerstmis, Nieuwjaarsdag, Pasen, enz.). Lunch is niet bij de prijs inbegrepen. 2. Vrije tijd om Honoré Village op uw gemak te verkennen : Gedurende ongeveer 60 minuten kunt u gewoon een drankje drinken aan de bar (Catherine’s Bar is gesloten op woensdag), ontspannen op het kleine strand naast de bar of een korte wandeling maken. Als u iets wilt drinken in Catherine’s Bar, houd er dan rekening mee dat we u geen tafel kunnen garanderen, omdat reserveringen alleen beschikbaar zijn voor de lunch. Je hoeft alleen maar een stoel te vinden als je aankomt.
Na de lunch of uw vrije tijd neemt uw Gids u mee op een schilderachtige rit langs de kust, en stopt uw chauffeur zodat u het adembenemende uitzicht kunt bewonderen. Bij de volgende stop geniet je ook van een prachtig uitzicht op een hotelcomplex, een terugkerende filmlocatie voor de serie en de plek waar de filmploegen verblijven.
Na deze stop is het tijd om aan boord te gaan van uw minibus voor de terugreis naar de cruiseterminal in Pointe-à-Pitre. Afhankelijk van de vertrektijd van uw cruiseschip vindt de terugreis plaats rond 14.30 of 15.00 uur.
De wandeltocht eindigt bij de Catehrine’s Bar waar uw Gids u een introductie geeft van deze site.

- Deze tour is niet rolstoeltoegankelijk. Gemotoriseerde scooters, inklapbare rolstoelen, rollators, kinderwagens en bagage zijn niet toegestaan. Er moet veel gelopen en of geklommen worden, vaak over onverhard en oneffen terrein. U dient in goede lichamelijke gezondheid te zijn als u deze tour reserveert.
- Lunch in de Catherine’s Bar : Deze optie is niet beschikbaar op woensdagen en feestdagen (kerst, nieuwjaarsdag, Pasen, enz.). Lunch is niet bij de prijs inbegrepen.
- Het Honoré Politiebureau : We stoppen voor deze site voor een foto gelegenheid. Wij kunnen niet garanderen dat de site open zal zijn op de dag van uw bezoek. Als het open is en u wilt het bezoeken, krijgt u daar wat tijd voor. De toegangsprijs is niet inbegrepen, en je moet je ticket ter plaatse kopen.
- Neem je eigen waterfles mee : We zijn milieuvriendelijk en voorzien geen plastic flessen meer.
- Wandeltocht door het Village d'Honoré : deze tocht omvat ongeveer 40 minuten stappen lopen en/of beklimmen, vaak op onverharde en oneffen ondergrond.

Olivier was an amazing guide and was very informative throughout the tour. He mentioned that he had been an extra on the set in previous episodes.
Fabulous experience! Olivier was a great guise, very knowledgeable and having been an extra on the show, full of interesting anecdotes and fun facts. We were there during the filming period which meant some things were limited, such as the police station being close, but Olivier still managed to ensure we saw as much as possible, including some extra bits!! The botanical gardens were a highlight for us. All in all a great day out for DIP fans!!!
It was incredibly fun. There is a world of difference between visiting the filming locations with someone who is knowledgeable and has been involved versus just going through the points without context. The mere fact that Oliver showed a photo of how each location we visited looks in the series was very helpful. We then recommended the tour on-site when we met other tourists interested in the filming locations of the series.
My parents and I had the pleasure of experiencing the DIP tour with Olivier. Olivier provided an unforgettable experience from start to finish. He provided so much insight into the show and was patient with all of our questions and comments. He even had pictures to show specific scenes that were filmed in the areas he was showing us. It’s clear that he loves what he does and we highly recommend this tour!
This was an amazing tour! We were well taken care of by our Guide Olivier. He took us to all the important places of the TV show and had lots of interesting behind-the-scenes information tidbits, since he was an extra on the show. The ride was comfortable, and the tour was small, with only two other couples in the vehicle. Pickup was prompt and we were returned on time to the cruise ship. Lunch at Catherine's bar was delicious and we got some free time afterwards to walk around the area. Very geeky experience, a must do for fans of Death In Paradise!

It was a perfect day with Oliver. All the great spots from Death in Paradise were just totally great, We were lucky that Cathrines Bar was open. So we could finally have a beer there. The highlight was the police station. We were allowed to see everything inside and were fortunately almost all alone in it. The botanical garden was a dream. And we had lunch on the beach. We can recommend the tour 100%.
Olivier was brilliant throughout and did all he could to ensure that the small tour group enjoyed themselves and got the best out of this must do adventure. We are fans of the show and we specifically sought out this tour after reading excellent reviews of what we saw as a highlight of our cruise. We had a brilliant time and can totally endorse and recommend this excursion. Thank you Olivier.
It was a great day. Olivier gave thought to the timing of each of our visits so we could get the most from each experience and miss the cruise crowds. There is some walking around the Botanical Gardens and also through the town to the police station and Catherine’s Bar We thoroughly enjoyed the walks. Olivier was a very enthusiastic guide on Death in Paradise. Whenever we stopped, he showed us scenes from the show to prompt our memories of where we were & what we were looking at. Olivier himself had been in the show as an extra and it was fun to hear his experience. The meal pre booked at Catherine’s Bar by Olivier was great. We sat comfortably and enjoyed our pre-booked meal when it was super busy and people were trying to sit at the tables. Olivier was more than happy to take photos at all the different stops which were fantastic photos. The Botanical Gardens were beautiful. The feeding of the fish was an experience - the fish go WILD as you throw the food in. The feeding of the parachets was an experience too. We didn’t feed the goats, we gave our feed to a family with multiple children. The actual gardens were so pretty. All the trees, flowers and water features like the waterfall, fountain & stream were so restful to listen to and so beautiful. This was a highly memorable day & we would definitely recommend to do it with Olivier and his company.
We were picked up from and returned to the cruise port. The tour was meticulously planned and organised. Olivier was very knowledgable, not only about Death in Paradise but also about Guadeloupe and its people. The locations we visited were well chosen and representative of the most famous spots of the show. A must for fans of the tv series, but also very enjoyable for any visitor to the island.
