Hier werd in feite Sint Franciscus geboren, stichter van de Franciscaanse orde en patroonheilige van Italië, en van hieruit begon hij zijn reis naar de poging om een arme en liefdadige kerk te herstellen. Je wandelt door de charmante pleinen en smalle straatjes van de oude stad en leert over het gelaagde verleden van de stad terwijl je oude Romeinse ruïnes en middeleeuwse gebouwen bewondert. Samen met onze gids ontdekt u de wonderen van de basiliek van San Francesco, een Unesco-erfgoed.

Extraordinary tour. Eduardo was professional, patient, and knowledgeable; making the experience more than we had hoped. We met him right at the parking lot, so it was easy as well. Then he took us through the town pointing out interesting facets of history, architecture, culture, and religion. He quickly realized where our focus was and concentrated more heavily on that aspect. He was able to direct us to avoid crowds and gave us appropriate time to enjoy the churches. It seemed he knew everyone in Assisi and was well respected. It was wonderful to get to know him personally. It was a very powerful day and we are grateful to have had his guidance. We would highly recommend!
