Een unieke en achterste kans om je weer te verbinden en te herenigen met je cultuur, wortels en bloedlijn. Je krijgt een traditionele Afrikaanse naam, en geniet van een dorpsleven zoals klei aardewerk maken, en in een traditionele culturele voorstellingen die worden weergegeven om u te verwelkomen in de gemeenschap door. Deze ervaring is uitsluitend voorbehouden aan nakomelingen, omdat het een heilige pelgrimstocht is gericht op genezing en herverbinding. Niet-afstammelingen mogen alleen meedoen als ze een echtgenoot of zwart familielid van een deelnemer zijn. Het is een energieverheffende reis die je toelaat om te zien hoe Afrikanen ooit leefden als koningen en koninginnen in hun thuisland voordat ze werden gestolen naar de kerkers van de Cape Coast en meegenomen naar de "Nieuwe Wereld". We raden je aan om een beetje geld mee te nemen, want je wilt misschien een aantal van de prachtige Afrikaanse kralen kopen als geschenken naar huis, en ook een beetje donatie om te ondersteunen en op te tillen wat ze doen! Draag wit, want het is een kleur van viering van nieuw leven of conformable van uw keuze is prima.

8:00 uur vertrek vanuit Accra Hotel / Residence naar het dorp in een voertuig met airconditioning. Aankomst rond 10.00 uur. We zullen eerst een beleefdheidsbezoek brengen aan de Chiefs en traditionele leiders van de gemeenschap, waar we worden verwelkomd met drummen en dansen en traditionele Afrikaanse namen krijgen.
We rijden dan naar het adembenemende Lake Volta en genieten van een fantastische lunch in een restaurant aan het meer. Het Voltameer is de grootste kunstmatige meren in Afrika en de op één na grootste ter wereld.
Shai Hills is het dichtstbijzijnde nationale wildparkreservaat in Accra, waar we enkele bavianen kunnen zien terwijl we verder rijden. We kunnen stoppen voor een foto-gelegenheid en onze reis terug naar Accra voortzetten

Loved this tour. Our tour guide and driver were very good. The vehicle was very nice. Water was provided. Tour guide was very knowledgeable, helpful, kind and patient. The naming ceremony was awesome. The village people were so warm and welcoming. A very incredible and memorable experience.

Our tour guide Toufic was amazing. He was knowledgeable about the history of Ghana, the culture, and the community called Torgome. Where our Naming ceremony was held, with the tribe, Ewes located in the Volta Region knew Toufic well. Toufic called ahead to inform the tribe of our arrival time which made the welcome of our presence so exciting. Lastly, Toufic took us to the Volta lake, explaining it was the 2nd largest man made lake which was very beautiful and to enjoy lunch at the amazing Restaurant called Afrikiko, put the cherry on top of everything. Overall, an amazing experience and great atmosphere. We look forward to returning soon and hope our tour guide will again be with Toufic. Happy 50th birthday to ME! Toufic is the best tour guide that Ghana has to offer. Not only does he have an amazing personality but his astute observations help you to better understand the culture. It was the highlight of my trip to have the naming ceremony after visiting Slave River and Elmina Castle. The entire community are so welcoming upon your arrival. Please be prepared to give a gift to the Chief after the ceremony. I didn’t know what give before getting on my flight so I gave some cedis. Lunch was great and the view of Lake Volta was stunning. I’d recommend this to any descendant looking to learn about the traditions of your ancestors. It truly was a highlight for my trip. Request Toufic after you book.

From the moment our guide, Kobe, picked us up, we felt like family. His energy was like we knew each other since birth and he spoke to us from a place of love and protection. He is very knowledgeable about our past and present while remaining hopeful for what the future brings to Ghana. When we arrived in the Volta Region, the children greeted us like little cousins who haven't seen us in so long! The elders embraced us with a true "welcome back home, we miss you" energy. We walked through the village and greeted our neighbors. Walked to the clear river and took in the beauty of the area. Then walked back to dance and laugh and hug our people. The naming ritual was spiritual and authentic to the Region. The names chosen by the elders fit each of us PERFECTLY!!! The blessings received were given in abundance and I am forever grateful for this experience.
