Onder leiding van een architect die gepassioneerd is door het verleden en de toekomst van Manchester, verkent deze wandeltocht de stad door de lens van zijn gebouwen, straten en verborgen verhalen. In tegenstelling tot standaard sightseeing tours, kijken we naar waarom Manchester eruit ziet zoals het eruit ziet... hoe naoorlogse planning, industrieel erfgoed en moderne regeneratie de stad hebben gevormd die je vandaag de dag ziet. Verwacht originele foto's, architectonische inzichten en doordachte discussie in plaats van een ingestudeerd script. Elke tour is ontspannen, conversatief en ontworpen voor iedereen die nieuwsgierig is naar design, place-making en hoe steden evolueren.

Absolutely LOVED this tour with Ric! Fascinating use of visuals to help you step back in time and great knowledge of the city. I went with my Mum and we both learned lots about the city we live in! Looking forward to seeing any new tours you run, thanks Ric!

I booked Ric’s Here. Then. & Now. tour as a client event for a group of architects and designers — it went down brilliantly. It’s not your typical history tour. The way Ric uses multimedia on location to show how the city’s evolved is a great touch, and even the group members who know Manchester well saw it differently. Rics tour was thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. He recreated historical Manchester through his vivid informative descriptions, fascinating old photographs and really interesting stories. My Dad took me along on this walk. Initially I wasn’t really interested but it was around my favourite city so I thought I’d give it a go, and he could buy the drinks at the end of it! Ric was really knowledgeable about the city and the old pics were interesting and presented on this screen which helped see what was there in a clear way. It’s nice to know more about the city when so much of it is changing.

Rik is the present day ‘Mr Manchester!’ His passion and experience is so prevalent in his tours, he obviously loves his home city and keeps a keen eye on development and a valuable bank of historical Images. It’s fascinating to see the images of before and now whilst on his tours. As Rik is an architect he is extremely thorough and keen to take questions on his opinion and express possible thoughts architects had when they produced the buildings in the city. The music scene notes are great also as are Riks recommendations on where to eat and pubs to drink in. If the Mayor of Manchester position becomes available soon, I’ll be voting for him!
