Duiken in het verleden was nog nooit zo eenvoudig. Van de majesteit van het middeleeuwse Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, waar een toren als bij toverslag scheef staat, tot de renaissancestad waar een kathedraal opvalt met de koepel van een architectonisch genie. We hebben het over de vijfde en tweede meest bezochte steden in Italië, beide UNESCO-erfgoedlocaties. En op de reis tussen deze twee steden het Toscaanse platteland. Onze chauffeurs kunnen locaties betreden waar anderen dat niet kunnen. Ze zijn altijd beschikbaar als u even wilt pauzeren, de duur van de tocht wilt verlengen of de reisroute wilt aanpassen (binnen bepaalde kilometers). De hoogtepunten zijn voor iedereen hetzelfde in steden als deze, maar we weten altijd de beste route met het juiste compromis tussen landschap en snelheid. Onze chauffeurs zijn allemaal Toscaans en kunnen u daarom echte informatie en advies geven om de kwaliteit van de tour te verbeteren. Reisroute
vanaf Livorno bereiken we Pisa in ongeveer 30 minuten. en de eerste stop van ongeveer 10 minuten zal hier zijn. Het Ridderplein is het oude politieke centrum waar de ridders en tempeliers van Santo Stefano woonden. Het is de thuisbasis van de huidige Pisa Normal School
Piazza dei Miracoli is het spirituele centrum van de stad Pisa. Binnen is het mogelijk om de kathedraal, het Baptisterium, het Camposanto en de beroemde SCHUVE TOREN te bezoeken.
vanaf Pisa bereiken we Florence in ongeveer 1 uur en 20 minuten. de stop in deze etappe duurt ongeveer 20 minuten. Piazzale Michelangelo is het mooiste panoramische punt in Florence.
De buurt is beroemd vanwege de kerk die de graven van Italiaanse glorie herbergt (Michelangelo, Dante, Macchiavelli) en het oude centrum van de productie van leerarbeiders. Het kerkkaartje kost 8€ per persoon. Over het algemeen stoppen we ongeveer 30 minuten op dit plein
De David van Michelangelo? restaurant? Beide? op dit punt in de tour hebben we vier opties. 1) dat je zelfstandig het academiemuseum hebt geboekt om de David van Michelangelo te zien (als je dit met deze tour wilt combineren raden we altijd aan om tussen 12.00 en 13.30 uur te reserveren, altijd via de officiële website van Firenze Musei) en daarom nemen we je mee daar 2) we boeken je en brengen je naar een typisch restaurant/trattoria 3) we doen beide 4) we doen niets van wat we zojuist hebben beschreven en brengen je naar de volgende halte. we willen u eraan herinneren dat we flexibel zijn en dat het onze bedoeling is om aan uw wensen te voldoen op basis van uw voorkeuren.
Strategisch punt in het hart van het historische centrum, waar we u vrijlaten om alle nabijgelegen monumenten te zien, zoals Piazza del Duomo, waar de Cattedrale Santa Maria del Fiore met de klokkentoren van Giotto en de doopkapel, Piazza del Mercato Nuovo met het beroemde gouden everzwijn, Piazza della Signoria met zijn prachtige beelden (inclusief de David-replica van Michelangelo) en de beroemde Ponte Vecchio met veel juweliers.
op de terugweg maken we een omweg door de heuvels van Toscane (ook een haalbare optie op de heenreis) en in ongeveer 90 minuten zijn we terug in de haven. deze optie is ook aanpasbaar, als je niet zo van bochten houdt of als je niet geïnteresseerd bent, kunnen we teruggaan naar de klassieke route

Deze tour kan alleen starten vanuit Livorno, Pisa of La Spezia. De chauffeur komt opdagen met een bordje met uw naam. Al onze chauffeurs zijn chauffeursgidsen, wat betekent dat zij tijdens de reis algemene informatie verstrekken. Als u een gecertificeerde gids wilt, moet u deze bij uw boeking aanvragen. De optie voor een wandeltocht moet privé worden overeengekomen.

Giuliano was phenomenal. We had to pivot our agenda due to a medical emergency and he was patient with our delay, kind, and even helped translate for us in the hospital! The modified tour of Pisa and Livorno was perfect for us. We appreciate his flexibility and hospitality. He was an angel sent to help us when we needed it most.

Giuliano "made our day" and made our first trip to Italy so memorable! We were so comfortable and never felt rushed! We learned so much from the time we left in the morning to when we came back to the ship! Guiliano is so professional and knowledgeable about Livorno, Florence, and Pisa and other regions in Italy! This was our first tour with our very own driver, with a great sense of humor that we all enjoyed. Coming from a small island in Canada, we certainly appreciated Guiliano’s sense of humor and how he made all of us feel safe!. We had several last minute plans and to say that they went above and beyond to accommodate and outright make them happen, is an understatement. They certainly have plenty of connections to make sure they can fill in some blanks if there are any issues that come up and they were very professional and helpful about it. Our tour guide,Giuliano, was fantastic! He picked us up from the cruise port and made sure we were on time for all of our tickets, climbing the leaning at 9 and the academy museum at 13:00. He gave us insight into each location and took us to a fantastic restaurant for lunch. Then he made sure we were back at the cruise port right in time. I highly recommend this tour if you are in port for the day!
thank you very much for this beautiful review, and I take this opportunity to tell anyone who wants to have a similar experience that the tickets for the tower and the David must be purchased well in advance (at least 3 months) from the official sites and by contacting us privately we can tell you which ones they are. The climb to the Tower is entirely on foot and there are 251 steps. For safety reasons, children under 8 are not allowed to enter the tower. --- We remain at your disposal for your visits in Tuscany in the future! As far as tours are concerned you have a lot of choice!

This was our 3rd Viator excursion for this trip and by far the worst. Let me preface this with the other two blew us away. They were incredible from start to finish. I wish more people would write a review of this type of excursion as we didn’t know what to expect. The driver was very nice but it was definitely on his agenda not ours. If we were to do Florence or Pisa again, we would not book a private transfer. The private transfer didn’t save us any time or freedoms other than a smaller bus and is very pricey. Save a lot of money and take the train or go with the cruise line.
Dear customer, we are truly surprised and disappointed by your unpleasant review, which we consider not only the first of its kind, but also unfairly negative. Our professional driver guide, Martin, followed the tour itinerary precisely and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. He provided continuous commentary about tuscany and the locations visited, offering both historical insight and local knowledge. If the experience did not meet your expectations, we kindly suggest reviewing the tour program more thoroughly beforehand. As clearly stated, historic cities like Pisa and Florence have restricted access to vehicles. However, thanks to our special permits, Martin was able to bring you closer to key landmarks than public transport ever could. For example, he stopped right by the entrance of Piazza dei Miracoli, just a few steps from the leaning tower — something buses and trains cannot do. During the journey to Florence, Martin showed you the Tuscany countryside area that makes all customers fall in love (and that you haven't even mentioned) so you could skip the traffic, a road that, we underline, is too narrow for buses to drive on. In Florence, you were taken to Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic view, then dropped off in Piazza Santa Croce (leather production district) and later in Piazza della Repubblica — the heart of the historic center. From there, you had walking access to all the major attractions: Piazza del Mercato Nuovo, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza del Duomo, and more, all within a 5-minute stroll. It's important to note that these areas are strictly pedestrian — not even the mayor’s car can access them. Additionally, Martin chose the pick up point (to return) to Piazza Pitti so as not to make you go back and forth twice and therefore giving you the chance to see an additional square as well to enhance your experience. The tour was customizable within the 9-hour time frame, allowing flexibility with stops based on your preferences. Therefore, claiming there was no free time is improbable. Martin also demonstrated kindness and professionalism when he offered you water on several occasions and promptly cleaned the vehicle after an unfortunate accident involving your child — a gesture that goes beyond standard service. If your disappointment stems from expecting something the tour clearly doesn’t promise, we regret that, but it is not a reflection of the quality we provide. It's like walking into a sushi restaurant and leaving a negative review because you expected pizza — the issue lies in the expectation, not the service provided. We respectfully request that this review be reconsidered or removed, as it does not reflect the service we delivered nor the overwhelmingly positive feedback we consistently receive from our clients over the years. Giuliano was such an incredibly fun and knowledgeable guide! He truly opened up my mind to a new understanding of Italy.. without his guidance we wouldn’t have fully understood the history, impact and culture of Florence. He was so patient with us while we took a million photos 😂 He delivered beyond expectations for us & we got the full Tuscan experience! Private tours are the way to go. The tour was excellent. My guide was Giuliano. We arrived at Pisa early and escaped the crowds which allowed for a thorough tour of the leaning tower, Cathedral, and surrounding town. The visit to Florence was equally rewarding with Giuliano covering the history and culture of the city and area. During the tour chose a visit to the Uffizi Museum of Art which should not be missed and ample time was allowed for hitting the high-lights of this fantastic house of historical art and culture. Giuliano suggested an excellent, non-tourist, restaurant for an amazing lunch with a stop up the street for real made-on-site Italian gelato. Giuliano is a real conversationalist adding antidotal stories at each stop. I not only recommend this tour, but I recommend asking specifically for Giuliano as your driver/guide.

From pre-planning with Ubaldo to the tour day with Giuliano, it was a fabulous experience. MMDII was extremely responsive and a great help in customizing our plans for the day prior to the trip. Spending the day with Giuliano was an absolute treat. His humor, knowledge, flexibility, and passion made our time in Pisa/Florence so memorable. We still talk about stories from our day together.
