In deze tour bezoeken we de belangrijkste plaatsen die de basis vormden voor de steun van het communistische regime in Roemenië. Het Revolutieplein is de plaats waar het communistische regime in december 1989 instortte. Hier was het hoofdkwartier van de Roemeense Communistische Partij. Je bezoekt het huis waar onze dictator woonde, Ceaușescu Mansion. Je ziet het huis van de vrije pers, de plaats die verantwoordelijk is voor communistische propaganda en nepnieuws. Tijdens deze tour bezoekt u ook de militaire eenheid in de stad Targoviste waar Nicolae en Elena Ceausescu werden neergeschoten op 25 december 1989. De plaats werd ingehuldigd als een museum, het echtpaar Ceausescu werd hier tussen 22 en 25 december 1989 gearresteerd. Je kunt de cel bezoeken waar de twee hun laatste levensdagen doorbrachten. Ze werden berecht en ter dood veroordeeld op 25 december in hetzelfde gebouw. Het vonnis werd 5 minuten na afloop van het proces op de binnenplaats van het gebouw ten uitvoer gelegd.

Hoogtepunten van de tour • Constitution Square (Piața Constituției) & Het Paleis van het Parlement Onze reis begint met een stop buiten het kolossale Paleis van het Parlement. Als de grootste en duurste constructie ooit geïnitieerd door Nicolae Ceaușescu, staat dit adembenemende gebouw als een massief monument voor megalomanie. Je leert over de oude wijken die zijn verwoest om plaats te maken voor het. • 21 december 1989 Plein Vervolgens bezoeken we de heilige grond waar de Roemeense Revolutie echt ontbrandde in Boekarest. Voel de geschiedenis terwijl je Gids vertelt over de chaotische eerste momenten van de volksopstand en de moed van de burgers die zich tegen het regime verzetten. • Revolutieplein (Piața Revoluției) We gaan verder naar het Revolutieplein om de buitenkant van het beruchte gebouw van het Centraal Comité te bekijken. Dit is de exacte plaats van Ceaușescu’s laatste, rampzalige toespraak en het balkon waar hij per helikopter van vluchtte. • Het Ceaușescu Herenhuis (Primaverii Paleis) – Inside Visit Stap binnen in het privéleven van de dictator. Gelegen in de exclusieve wijk Primăverii, nemen we een 45 minuten durende rondleiding door het herenhuis waar de familie Ceaușescu in absolute luxe leefde, in schril contrast met de soberheid die het Roemeense publiek wordt opgelegd. • Huis van de Vrije Pers (Casa Presei Libere) Deze halte is een treffend voorbeeld van stalinistische architectuur en biedt de perfecte achtergrond om de krachtige machines van communistische propaganda, staatscontrole en censuur te bespreken. • Het laatste hoofdstuk : Târgoviște (De executieplaats) We verlaten Boekarest en reizen 80 km noordwestwaarts naar de stad Târgoviște. Hier bezoekt u de huiveringwekkende, authentieke plek waar Nicolae en Elena Ceaușescu hun laatste dagen doorbrachten. Verken de militaire barakken waar ze werden gearresteerd, berecht voor genocide in een haastig tribunaal en geëxecuteerd op eerste kerstdag, 25 december 1989.

Gem of a city for architecture and vibrancy.

Bucharest is a huge city with lots of cultural attractions; museums, churches, historical buildings, and a beautiful park museum of ancient houses from Transylvania. There are lots of green spaces and lakes around the city. There is a metro system with 4 lines that is easy to navigate and a range of buses. The old town is crammed with amazing restaurants and is vibrant and full of energy. The people are friendly and helpful too. A must see is the mountainous area of Transylvania and the castles (Bram castle is probably the most picturesque.) It’s a long day trip (12 hours) but definitely worth it. I’d definitely recommend a city break in Bucharest. We stayed 4 nights and managed to tick off everything on our ‘to do’ list.

Exceptional trip to the past to discover the family of dictator Nicu Ceausescu

Thanks to our exceptional guide Mircea, we took a leap into the past and we had the perfect opportunity to know a multitude of details about the life of Romanians during the communist period and especially to get to know in more detail the members of the Ceausescu family. Of them died but 1 still lives in Romania. We first visited places in Bucharest important in the history of the Roman Revolution of 1989 then we went to see the house of the Ceausescu family which is really worth a visit and finally where they spent the last three days of their lives before being executed together. All the tickets were included in the price, and we were very lucky to have an extremely patient guide , very cultivated full of goodwill. The real plus of this journey is that our guide experienced the whole revolution himself and they told us about it in a really exciting way! Great bravo, congratulations to Mircea and his brother Sebastian for this excursion we really had a fantastic day!!
