De Cozumel Turtle Sanctuary Snorkel Tour

5 star as partner enjoyed it (as did I). First underwater turtle for her! Drift snorkel over Palancar for coral and fish. Then great sandy spot for a light lunch and rays. This variety was good representation of Coz. Crew were solid as well. Really appreciated the 'don't touch' 'dont follow' reminders for those not respecting/protecting nature on their own, while still maintaining the fun, excitement and safety of all. You will have to pay an extra 200p each for marine fee. And if picked up at hotel pier, the hotel will charge you (we used Secrets at $10us each). And a photographer accompanies the group for good photos to later purchase if you'd like. I contacted the team via WhatsApp when booking and there was great communicationl. Overall fun trip and recommended.

Great value! We saw sea turtles, starfish, lots of fish, coral, etc. at various locations and it included a nice lunch with drinks. Shout out to the crew on Enigma for a solid experience!

Fantastic day with our captain Wilson and our guide Angus aboard the Olivia. We saw absolutely everything there was to see, the turtles, the starfish, the rays, superb fish. The snack was excellent. The captain's piña colada tour was super good. Thank you for this wonderful day.

We had a fantastic snorkeling excursion and would definitely recommend it! I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. We were lucky enough to see starfish, a shark, and a sea turtle, and spending time on the beach with the stingrays was such a fun and unforgettable experience. The crew did a great job making sure everyone had a good time, and the entire trip was well organized. One of the highlights was the professional photos and videos available to purchase at the end—they turned out absolutely amazing and were well worth it. They captured so many incredible moments that we'll treasure for years to come. Overall, this was a wonderful adventure with beautiful marine life and lasting memories. We'd happily book another excursion with this company!

Highly recommend this snorkeling tour! The experience was amazing, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the trip. We were lucky enough to see stingrays, sea turtles, and sea stars up close. The tour ended with a relaxing stop at a beautiful sandbar, where we enjoyed margaritas while taking in the scenery. It was the perfect way to end the adventure. We had a fantastic time and would definitely do it again!

Amazing snorkeling, trip, boatride, guidance, ceviche, and guacamole. Gasper (snorkel guide) and Emiliano (boat captain) were truly wonderful and the best. Me and my girlfriend had a great time. There were 3 great snorkel spots with a relaxing time on sandbar with food afterwards! So grateful!

I so wanted this to be the 5 star experience that Tripadvisor suggests, but I can’t rate it so. The Ugly: Website and tour company messaging do not advise that you CANNOT use sunscreen; it tells you to apply (before departure) and pack your reef-safe sunscreen, which we did. But upon departure you’re told NO sunscreen is permitted - one of the guests was actually told to rub her sunscreen off using her towel. There was no shade on the catamaran, as a result I’m in agony having been very badly burned. In fairness, they suggest taking a rash vest. I didn’t thinking I could reapply my specially purchased Factor 50 reef-safe sunscreen. But regardless, a rash vest wouldn’t have protected my feet or thighs. The bad: I contacted the tour company the night before the trip to advise we were vegetarian so wouldn’t eat the ceviche (and said we didn’t need any alternative, I just didn’t want food going to waste). I got a super friendly reply saying no worries, we could have guacamole, pica de galo, chips and fruit - so I didn’t bother bringing a snack. But then we were served a “larger” plate (most plates serve two people) for the three of us, which had ceviche and pica de galo on it (which we couldn’t eat as on same plate). So we had about 6 tortilla chips each and one piece of melon (another couple took our plate, so I was happy it wasn’t wasted). But as well as asking “any allergies”, it would be so easy for the crew to ask “any allergies OR dietary needs”. If they’d done that I’d have asked for a plate without cerviche (I didn’t realise food would be plated up, nor did I want to ask the chef to prepare something special AFTER he’d already plated up. Secondly, perhaps just my misunderstanding, but I assumed a “turtle sanctuary” would be a place providing education, where rescued turtles were rehabilitated. I’m not sure what the “sanctuary” referred to, but we had about 10 minutes of snorkelling where we saw one turtle eating grass, perhaps this was it? No education information, although the guide did invite questions throughout the tour. I just thought I’d learn more about turtles given the name of the tour. Snorkels had no “water guard” (not sure what this is called, but if top of your snorkel tube went under water, your mouth filled up with salty water, so diving down with it not really an option). And lastly, we spent no more than 30 minutes (across 3 sites) snorkelling - and at least 2 hours getting just moving from and to the departure points (with 3 stops to pick up more guests). I think a better tour name would be “2.5 hours on a catamaran with a bit of snorkelling and a snack on a sandbank”. The good: Super easy booking, and friendly responsive messaging about the booking. The crew were really friendly. Drinks on board were ok and plentiful. Other passengers were nice to be around. The water, wow, never seen such crystal clear water before. Saw some sealife (two turtles, one shark, lots of fish, some rays, and some big yellow/brown starfish). The photographer took some really good shots - we purchased (he takes cash, applepay, debit/credit card), it was 500 peso per person in group (well that’s what I was quoted). The photos and videos are of you but also of the sealife seen on the trip. In summary: If I’d known how much time would be just sailing and that I couldn’t reapply sunscreen, we’d have stayed at Playa del Carmen (and not taken the ferry across) to visit Akumal (and a 5 minute boat ride), as the beautiful water in Cozumel doesn’t make up for the sunburn I picked up on the long journey.

Highly recommend. We visited 3 snorkle spots. All gear was provided and guides accommodated different skill levels including first timers. Each spot had something different to offer. We saw tropical fish, sea turtles, sting ray, star fish, a barracuda, reef. Water was clear and warm. At the last spot, in soft white sand we waded, ate a lunch in the water with a floating board set up as a table. Danced to music. It was so fun!! So much was included for a fair price… plus a photographer came along and took amazing pictures in the water offered at a reasonable price. It was perfect!
