Welkom bij mijn inleiding in mijn geboortestad : ontdek de lokale cultuur terwijl we tussen bezienswaardigheden wandelen en lokale snacks proberen. Kom hongerig! Ik neem je mee door een lijst met eettentjes die ik persoonlijk heb uitgekozen. Van warm tot koud, vast tot drank, zoet tot zout, winkels en straatverkopers, nationaal en lokaal, gebakken tot gebakken, fruit tot vlees en alles daartussenin terwijl we wandelen tussen de beroemdste bezienswaardigheden van de stad. Alle proeverij opties zijn snacks. Maar als je Colombia kent, weet je... we houden van eten. De meeste mensen zijn tevreden aan het einde. U kunt kiezen uit: pandebono, buñuelo, arepa, empanadas, marranitas, papa rellena, papa aborrajada, aborrajado, chorizo, champús, ijs, koffie... en nog veel meer! Vegetariërs welkom. Glutenvrije mensen zijn welkom. Vleesliefhebbers ook welkom! Er zijn opties voor iedereen.

We wandelen een van de meest geliefde plekken in Cali, een geweldige kickstarter voor de Cali ervaring.
We wandelen bovenop Colombia's langste stedelijke tunnel en bekijken enkele van Cali's grootste street art.
Een van de meest historische straten in Cali, dateert van honderden jaren geleden. Cali's historische binnenstad.
Een van de meest historische huizen in Cali, tegenwoordig een gemeenschap van alleenstaande moeders die bedrijven runnen zoals een souvenirwinkel, een café en een restaurant.
Voor onze eerste stop bezoeken we een van de bekendste bakkerijen in Cali en begrijpen we de rol die deze hebben in de lokale samenleving. U kunt kiezen uit de volgende voedingsmiddelen : pandebono, buñuelo, arepa, almojabana, empanada de cambray, koffie, vruchtensappen, havermout, yoghurt met fruitsmaak, flessenwater
Een buurt vol verborgen pareltjes, ons eten avontuur verdiept zich rond de kleurrijke hoeken van een van Cali's beste eten gebieden.
Tweede hoofdstop, de stevige, warme, gefrituurde (natuurlijk, want Colombia) voedselstop. Als je graag lokale gerechten wilde proberen, mag je deze items niet missen om uit te kiezen : empanadas, marranitas, papa rellena, papa aborrajada, maduro aborrajado
Een van Cali's bekendste verborgen pareltjes onder reizigers, een zeer unieke plek niet alleen hier maar wereldwijd met werkende lytografie drukmachines oorspronkelijk ontworpen om te werken op stoom nu aangepast aan elektriciteit die dateren uit 1870.
Voor onze laatste eetstop en het einde van de tour, een ander verborgen juweeltje in San Antonio is deze ijssalon met een aantal van de wildste smaken die je ooit zult zien, zoals hun specialiteit : passievrucht met honing-gekarameliseerd gebakken varkensvlees. Waarom? De Eigenaar, een chef-kok met het idee om colombia samen te vatten in schepjes. Inbegrepen bij de tour : 2 bolletjes ijs.

This was an amazing tour of the streets of Cali while trying some delicious food. Juan was an amazing guide who is very friendly, professional and articulate. I would highly recommend.
Juan Camilo is an amazing tour guide! He is super knowledgeable about the history and culture of Cali. He took us to amazing spots for local food! We enjoyed everything about this tour and would definitely recommend it.
My tour guide Juan Carlo was incredibly informative about Cali, and he illuminated several facets of Cali that I did not know about. The street food was excellent (especially the chorizo and lulada!), but truly, the knowledge he espoused on the history of Cali and Salsa was invaluable. I highly recommend it!
We did this street food tour in March 2026 as a couple and booked with Juan again after doing San Cipriano with him the day before - once again it ended up being a private tour (I think he may have rearranged his day to fit us in). We met centrally and walked between different stalls, trying a wide range of food and drinks including fruit, savoury dishes, sweets, and local beverages. There was so much to try that we could barely finish everything! Juan’s local knowledge really enhanced the experience - he even took us to a specific stand so we could try a lulada, which was something I really wanted, and it was excellent. The stall was run by a lovely local family, which made it even more memorable. We also stopped at a few other points of interest around the city, which was a great way to round off the tour. Overall, a fantastic way to experience Cali’s food culture with a knowledgeable local guide.

I had such an incredible time on this street food tour! From start to finish, it was the perfect mix of delicious food, local culture, and great company. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the city’s food scene. They didn’t just take us to popular spots — we visited hidden gems I never would have found on my own. Each stop had its own story, and learning about the history behind the dishes made the experience even more meaningful. The food itself was outstanding. We sampled a wide variety of flavors — savory, sweet, spicy — and everything was fresh and authentic. I especially loved how generous the portions were; I left completely full and happy! What really stood out was how well-organized everything was. The pace was relaxed, there was plenty of time to enjoy each stop, and the guide made sure everyone felt included and comfortable. If you’re visiting and want to experience the city like a local, this tour is absolutely worth it. I’d recommend it to food lovers, first-time visitors, or anyone looking for a fun and memorable way to explore. I would 100% do it again!
