Gelegen op Vancouver Island, Victoria's 'parel' is de wereldberoemde Butchart Gardens, National Historic Site of Canada. Deze privé-tuin van 55 hectare bevindt zich op slechts 35 minuten ten noorden van het centrum. It’s a long ride, but the Shuttle driver provided info about Victoria, as well as about the gardens.

The experience with booking was easy and efficient. The only reason it is not perfect marks is the Viator rep did not tell me that the cost did not include admission to the gardens as well. We found out from the tour operator when boarding the shuttle. They said lots of people are tripped up with viator descriptions. Could have purchased a package 5 dollars less that would have included both.

Exceptional garden in magnificent condition. There was hardly one leaf out of place and the flowers were quite beautiful. A place that I hope to return whenever possible.

Going from downtown to the gardens was fine. Leaving the gardens was quite stressful & disappointing. We needed to be on the 3 pm bus back to the city (it’s about 45 min drive). We were here on a cruise stop. We arrived at the shuttle pick up area 5 minutes early. There were approximately 20 people in line ahead of us, 10 more behind us, & the bus was ‘completely’ full. The driver could not arrange for the grey line company to have another bus for all of us additional passengers. It became a bad situation fast as everyone started to panic. I don’t know how, but my husband finagled us on & we squeezed into a couple of spots. I don’t know what happened to all of the other 30 or so people waiting. I paid $90 for round trip transportation & it was a poor show for sure.

There is so much to see and experience, and we want our guests to enjoy the Gardens without feeling rushed to make a specific return departure. We offer hourly shuttle departures back to downtown Victoria, allowing guests the flexibility to choose the return time that works best for them. We’re sorry the experience didn’t meet your expectations, and we appreciate you sharing your feedback with us.
The ticket is not included in the price quoted but must be purchased separately. This is buried in the tour operator’s boiler plate but not readily obvious. The bus was nice and the driver/ guide very knowledgeable and friendly. The buses run on time.

Very easy to book online and a lot cheaper than booking on the cruise ship. Easy to find the check- in, commentary by the driver in both directions. The return bus leaves Butchart Gardens on the hour so you can spend as long as you like without the time pressure of an organised trip
