Het Monument voor de Revolutie is een iconisch stedelijk oriëntatiepunt dat oorspronkelijk was gepland als het centrum van een wetgevend paleis, maar er werd besloten om er beter een mausoleum van te maken. Uitleg en tijd voor foto's. Totale tijd 10 minuten.
We bezoeken het Alameda Central Park. Uniek en prachtig historisch park dat een ontmoetingspunt is van mijn stad. Daar bezoeken we ook El Quemadero de la Inquisición. U kent de gebruiken en gebruiken, evenals de methoden en praktijken in de tijden van de inquisitie. Uitleg en tijd voor foto's. Totale tijd 20 minuten.

We beginnen de tour in het historische centrum van Mexico-Stad (erfgoed van La Humados) met het prachtige Viceregal-paleis dat La Casa de Los Azulejos is aan de beroemde Calle (Pasaje) Madero. Ze zullen het interieur kennen en het is ook een aanbevolen en schone plek om hun badkamers te gebruiken. Profiel van de geschiedenis en degenen die de eigenaren zijn geweest vanaf de 16e eeuw tot heden. Totale tijd voor uitleg, foto’s en gebruik sanitair 25 minuten.
Het postkantoor. Een luxe neoklassieke constructie in Franse stijl uit het begin van de 20e eeuw. U kent het interieur met mooie en fijne afwerkingen in marmer, messing en brons. Uitleg en tijd voor foto's totaal 15 minuten.
Het Mijnpaleis. Dat is een majestueuze New Hispanic Classical-constructie die: a) Binnen is er een tentoonstelling van vier meteorieten voor uw bewondering en het maken van foto's. b) In het voorste gedeelte bevindt zich de Plaza de Minería met zijn prachtige standbeeld van het kleine paard, gemaakt door de beroemde architect en beeldhouwer Manuel Tolsá.
We zullen door de historische straten van Tacuba en Brazilië gaan en verwijzen naar de architecturale stijlen van herenhuizen, paleizen en kerken uit de 16e tot de 19e eeuw die de nadruk legden op UNESCO om ons prachtige historische centrum tot cultureel erfgoed van de mensheid te verklaren.

Jorge is an excellent guide. A passionate historian, his tour provides lots of interesting additional information on the culture, architecture, history, and politics of Mexico City which might be omitted from a traditional tour. Don’t miss this - 10/10!

Jorge is very passionate and highly proficient about the history of his country and this city. This walking tour is fairly long and took us through some off-the-beaten path spots, from Aztec times to inquisition bonfires, sculptures, meteorites, and architectural details of buildings commissioned by Diaz. If you are an history buff and in fairly good shape, I highly recommend this tour!

Jorge is he knowledgeable and passionate guide. He’s a former history teacher and has deep knowledge of Mexico City. You will see and learn about things that conventional tour guides don’t know about. My only complaint would be sometimes he is too heavy handed and authoritarian in his delivery. But all in all he is a great tour guide and I learned a lot about Mexico City.

We had a great experience with Jorge, who is very knowledgeable about Mexico City history and enthusiastic about sharing it. We saw a lot of places from some of most famous to some that may not be in guidebooks but are very interesting nonetheless. We saw and learned so much! Jorge shared many memorable historical anecdotes. Be prepared to walk a lot (comfortable shoes and clothes and hats for the sun are a must) and your 3 hour immersion into Mexico City history. Highly recommended.

Did not realize Jorge the tour guide communicates thru What’s up , which I typically do not do. Been trying yo contact thru email as phone not available not until I called Viator. Took a while b4 we saw him. Thanks God he waited few more minutes - almost 20 min

Indeed: I keep in touch via WhatsApp BUT I also send complete information about the start time, tolerance for delays and above all the Meeting Point with a map right here via this Viator-TripAdvisor Message Chat and I did not receive any response from either means of communication. Also my phone number is available on the Platform and in the Tour explanation. Also you did not read the development of the tour correctly since my Tour is from a Meeting Point and not with transportation since you were on the street “waiting for a van” and not inside the Esplanade of the Monument to the Revolution as it was marked. The tolerance time is 15 minutes because I consider that punctuality is basic for both parties (yours and mine) and I did comply. In fact, I was very happy to wait for you for almost half an hour and you know what?: Because I was very happy to meet you and be able to give you my service because you were a wonderful and very enthusiastic group! It was a private tour with just me and the tour guide (George). He took me all around the City showing me the highlights and giving a lot of backstory to each location. George was very passionate about history, his City and his job. One can tell that he really loves history and he loves his country of Mexico! He also gave time to take pictures at each of the locations and or utilize the restroom where they had them. Mexico City is so beautiful with so much history. One would need a lot more time to see an experience and learn everything. This was just a quick trip of a couple days, so I definitely have to come back another time. I will need to come back to see More of the city in greater detail! It was a good experience and helps you get the lay of the land. Especially if anyone is a history of like me and loves history you should find this tour interesting.

Jorge was a great guide. There's a lot of ground to cover, both literally and figuratively, and he did a great job of keeping the conversation moving by connecting some of the key players in the history of the Mexican Republic to the architecture, monuments, and streetscape. I'd say this is an excellent early-days survey of the historic center that will help you understand where you want to return to later for a more in-depth look. For those of us only in town for a couple of days, it was the perfect way to understand the 'greatest hits', and I look forward to circling back to a few of the places we saw when I return and have more time. He's friendly, knowledgable, and easy to hear over the roar of traffic and crowds. His background as an educator really comes through.
