De Zeedijk is een voormalige dijk of muur ter bescherming tegen overstroming, waarschijnlijk gebouwd rond de jaren 1100 om de bevolking van Amsterdam in die periode te beschermen tegen de razende getijden van de zee.
Afhankelijk van de tijd van het jaar kan het Nieuwmarktplein leeg zijn, er kan een markt staan of zelfs een kermis. De Nieuwmarkt is een hotspot voor de hipsters van vandaag.
Belle is gemaakt door de Nederlandse kunstenaar Else Riserse op verzoek van Mariska Major, de oprichter van het informatiecentrum voor prostituees Het doel van het standbeeld is respect te tonen.
De eerste houten kerk gebouwd op de locatie van de Oude Kerk in de jaren 1200 werd in 1306 vervangen door een bakstenen bouwwerk. Vandaag de dag bestaat de centrale hal nog, terwijl er door de eeuwen heen andere onderdelen zijn toegevoegd.

Nice tour, great to do for an hour. Fun facts are told and you see places you would otherwise walk past.
Very informative walking tour. The audio provided very clear walking directions with visual cues. I would recommend.
It was my first self guided tour, and I loved loved loved it! You can do it at your own pace, the information is presented clearly (some of the information might be a little outdated, though), the directions are easy to follow, and downloading is simple (although I would recommend to do it when you’re connected to Wi-Fi, it didn’t work otherwise). I would highly recommend this tour!

Easy to use, didnt matter if we took longer than normal dor the tour, it was self paced which was refreshing. Full of interesting facts about the area.
The guided audio tour was exactly what we were looking for. Allowed us to walk on a guided path while listening to the guide and actually being able to hear what they were saying.
Best way to tour the Red Light District. Excellent tour, the guide was informative, easy to understand, and very entertaining. I got so much more out of this tour than simply walking around on my own - especially as live tours of the area are no longer allowed. The app was easy to use and very helpful for directions. I really liked how it could be paused and replayed and was tied to my actual physical location; the audio for each segment started automatically as I reached each stop. I liked it so much I did another tour on a different subject and will use the app again in other cities.
We did a few of the self guided tours while in Amsterdam and this was by far the most engaging , informative and interesting. We learnt a lot and had fun doing so . Would recommend it for sure ! Great value for money !
The tour went quickly. There was general information about the district and stops along the way. The app was good and worked off GPS so I could have my phone I pockets.
