Tijdens deze tour bezoekt u in één dag twee van de belangrijkste UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocaties, Auschwitz-Birkenau en Wieliczka-zoutmijn. Je dag begint vroeg, maar op deze manier lukt het je om Auschwitz-Birkenau, het voormalige concentratiekamp van de nazi's, te bezoeken, de mijn te verkennen en tegen etenstijd terug te zijn in Krakau.

De ophalingen worden verzorgd tussen 5 : 300 en 7 : 30, afhankelijk van het tijdstip van binnenkomst, uw accommodatie en onze dienstregelingen. De ophaaltijd wordt altijd de dag voor de tour per sms en e-mail bevestigd. De tour wordt uitgevoerd in een groep van maximaal 30 personen. Tijdens de reis kijkt u naar een documentairefilm over de geschiedenis van de naziconcentratiekampen.
Gegarandeerde toegangskaarten! Wij annuleren de tours niet. Eerst wordt u naar Auschwitz I gebracht, waar u gedurende ongeveer 2 uur deelneemt aan een Engelse tour – verzorgd door de Gids van het museum. Daarna brengen we u naar Auschwitz II-Birkenau, ongeveer 2 km verderop. Je brengt er ongeveer een uur door met dezelfde Gids. Na Camp Auschwitz II-Birkenau heeft u de tijd om onze vers bereide lunchboxen te eten (inclusief kippastasalade, sandwich, zoete bar, fruit en water). We bieden ook vegetarische, veganistische, gluten- en zuivelvrije opties. Voeg een opmerking toe in uw boeking als u speciale wensen heeft. Let op: de tickets zijn titulair. Zorg ervoor dat de informatie in de boeking correct is. Wijziging van deze gegevens is mogelijk tegen een extra vergoeding betaald aan de leverancier.
In een tweede deel van de dag wordt u overgebracht naar de zoutmijn van Wieliczka, die toevallig een van de oudste nog werkende zoutmijnen ter wereld is : zij produceert al meer dan 700 jaar zout. Je volgt een Engelse rondleiding om 16.00 of 17.00 uur (afhankelijk van de wegomstandigheden). Uw Gids neemt u mee tot 140 meter onder de grond voor een 2,5 - uur durende reis door meer dan 2,5 - km toeristische route vol kamers met geweldige zoutgravures en standbeelden.
Na de tour word je afgezet bij je accommodatie of in het centrum van Krakau. Als uw hotel zich in de oude binnenstad of Joodse wijk bevindt, zetten we u af bij het dichtstbijzijnde ontmoetingspunt.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden

Als uw hotel niet in de lijst staat, voeg dan een opmerking toe, en wij halen u op bij elke Accommodatie (ook Airbnb) gelegen binnen Krakau City grenzen. U kunt ook kiezen voor een van onze ophaalpunten. Als u de ophaallocatie niet 24 uur voor de service doorgeeft, wordt het ontmoetingspunt toegewezen, dat mogelijk niet dicht bij de accommodatie van de klant ligt. Houd er rekening mee dat als uw hotel zich in het centrum van de stad of de Joodse wijk bevindt, de pick-up direct bij de accommodatie zal zijn, maar na de tour kunt u worden afgezet bij het dichtstbijzijnde afzetpunt. Als uw accommodatie zich buiten de stadsgrenzen van Krakau bevindt, is het mogelijk om tegen een toeslag opgehaald te worden. Bijvoorbeeld pick-up van Krakau luchthaven is 33 €. De prijs is altijd afhankelijk van de afstand van Krakau en een aantal personen.

- Houd er rekening mee dat de maximale grootte van tassen en rugzakken die op het Museumterrein mogen worden meegenomen 30 x 20 x 10 cm is. U kunt uw spullen altijd achterlaten in de bus die in de buurt zal worden geparkeerd.
- Let op: deze tour is niet beschikbaar op : 25 december, 1 januari, paaszondag en maart van de Living Day.
- Let op: om het eerste niveau van de mijn (64 meter ondergronds) te bereiken, moet je een houten trap afdalen die 378 trappen heeft. Er zijn ongeveer 800 treden op de hele route in de zoutmijn. Na de tour wordt u met een lift naar boven gebracht.
- Temperatuur in de zoutmijn is ongeveer 14 graden C (57 graden F), draag warme kleding en comfortabele schoenen.
- Studenten- en kindertickets beschikbaar.
- Houd er rekening mee dat de toegangskaarten voor het Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum gepersonaliseerd zijn. Elke deelnemer is verplicht om zijn volledige naam op te geven zoals deze tijdens het boekingsproces op zijn officiële ID staat. Eventuele naamsfouten of het niet verstrekken van deze informatie ten minste 24 uur voor de rondleiding kan leiden tot ontzegging van de toegang tot het museum.
- Als u met andere passagiers reist, maar afzonderlijke boekingen heeft gemaakt, informeer ons dan in uw boeking en vermeld de volledige naam van de hoofdpassagier, zodat we kunnen proberen u in dezelfde groep in te delen. Houd er rekening mee dat we niet kunnen garanderen dat passagiers met afzonderlijke boekingen samen reizen.
- Het museum wordt niet aanbevolen voor bezoekers jonger dan 14 jaar. De uiteindelijke beslissing hangt af van ouders of wettelijke voogden.

The food was very tasty. The visits with the guides very well explained and the guides were always available for clarifications. We love it.
A must-do while in Krakow. You will learn things about the concentration camps you didn’t know during the tour and also through the 20-minute documentary shown on route, the Liberation of Auschwitz. A completely eye-opening experience. While Auschwitz was more personal with more visual artefacts and appeal, the scale of Birkenau – the enormity of the atrocities committed there – was unfathomable. And through control of the populace through fear, human beings did this to other humans, or stood by and let it happen. It's a reminder that we cannot let similar forces, operating all around the world today, to succeed. After booking, I had many questions about the order of sites (I definitely wanted to visit the camps first and the salt mine second), the timing, the lunch, and particularly whether a gluten-free option could be provided. Mr. Shuttle staff, Gosia, Aleksandra, and especially Zuzanna, were friendly, positive, and took initiative in all their responses. Great pre-excursion customer service. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that our guide in the camps, Teresa, while phenomenally knowledgeable, authentic, and deeply empathetic, had a lot of Information to impart so spoke very quickly, and with her accent, was at times hard to understand, especially through the earpieces provided for all group tours. I was not the only participant to have this experience. I managed to hear and assimilate about 2/3 of what she said, which was a shame, because her knowledge was encyclopedic and I know I missed details that I would like to have heard. The salt mine was simply incredible and our guide, Samantha, was easy to hear and easy to understand. She used humour where appropriate and was very organized with respect to logistics. While I am glad I took the mine tour, it was in a league far below the concentration camps in terms of impact. Our driver – born and raised in Krakow, but went by Mike for the sake of his English speaking guests, was excellent. He communicated all the arrangements – from bathroom and snack breaks to exact time at sites and exact meeting spots – very clearly. Ample breaks were provided, which was welcome as the day was long (but only 14,000 steps) with a fair bit of waiting to enter the sites by group. For example, 10,000 visitors tour the salt mine daily! He also was aware of my tendency to get carsick and installed me in the front seat, checked in with me throughout the drive, and also provided me lots of interesting tourist info on the side. However, I was less thrilled about the drop-off, which was to be at the pick-up point in front of my hotel. Mike instead dropped me 2-3 “blocks” from the hotel with unclear directions how to get there navigating through paths in Planty Park on the basis that my hotel – Amber Design Residence – was in a restricted zone in the old town, which was not the case. Also much appreciated was the gluten-free meal Mr. Shuttle was able to provide for my husband who has coeliac disease. A highly recommended tour.
Great experience. Must see for historical purposes. Unfortunately, the museum is terrible! Yad Vashem (Israel), Washington DC Holocaust Museum and others tell a much better telling story for the record.
We were very lucky to have Luca as our guide around Auschwitz, he was very knowledgeable and made the day very thought provoking
The tour was seamlessly run and we felt in great hands the whole time. Our van picked us up at 5:40am and transferred us to a larger bus and we arrived at Aushwitz at 7:20a for a 7:40a tour ticket time. The bus held about 20 passengers and was tight. My husband and I are average American size and were fine, but caution if very tall or on the bigger side. Tour for Aushwitz was about 2 hours, then about a 15 min break and drive to Birkenau which was 45 min. Afterwards we had a 40 min break where you could purchase food or some people had it included in price (we did not). Then a 1.5 hour drive to the Salt mines where I think everyone napped! You get to drive most of the time through suburbs which is cool to see. We arrived at the Salt Mines at 1:10p, but tour time wasn’t until 2p. They also have lots of food, ice cream and places to sit, albeit very hot. Salt mine tour was excellent and cool to see. The main tour took about 2 hours, but then there was an optional museum tour which was 45 more min. Everyone but 2 people in our tour decided against it, but we had to wait for them on the bus which was not ideal. Got back to Krakow at about 5:30p and had to walk about 15 min back to our hotel. Overall it felt so good to be in the care of the Mr. Shuttle driver. He knew where to go, what to do, where the bathrooms were.
Very emotional experience, especially the Birkenau site. The guide at Auschwitz was excellent, Barbara, she was honest, sensitive and well informed. Guide at the Salt Mine, Kamil, was a current miner and again was very good. The pick up and transport from Mr Shuttle was excellent, arrived on time and kept us well informed on ETA, what was to expect next etc. and the driver Christian, was polite and helpful. A great trip, well worth experiencing

Auschwitz’s is memorable. Birkenwal was as well. Be ready to walk. I registered 20,000 steps between the above and salt mines. Salt mine has 800 steps down. Lift on the return.
