Vanuit Kandy : 6.30 uur Vanaf Sigiriya start om : 17.00 uur (Mogelijk moet je wachten tot 17.00 uur ook al ben je klaar om vroeg te vertrekken aangezien dit een groepsreis is) Sigiriya Rock Fortress en Dambulla Cave tempel zijn iconische plekken in Sri Lanka en elke reiziger die Sri Lanka bezoekt zou ze graag zien. Deze tour biedt u de mogelijkheid voor dergelijke reizigers om binnen een korte periode en tegen een betaalbare prijs aan hun eisen te voldoen. Een voertuig van zeer goede staat zal worden geregeld en de grootte van het voertuig is afhankelijk van het aantal boekingen. Het kan variëren van minibusje tot luxe touringcar. We halen de reizigers op bij een paar opstapplaatsen en u kunt contact met ons opnemen en advies krijgen over de dichtstbijzijnde locatie op basis van het hotel waar u verblijft in Kandy.

Een oude hindoeïstische tempel gelegen op weg naar Dambulla

Een van de oudste grottempels ter wereld. Er zijn 05 grotten en de geschiedenis gaat terug tot de 1e eeuw voor Christus. Je krijgt uitleg over de geschiedenis en de religieuze achtergrond ervan.
Gebouwd door koning Kashyapa tijdens het bewind van 473 - 495 Hoogte is 260 voet en moet 1200 treden beklimmen om het Lion Rock Fortress op de top van Sigiriya te bereiken. Er zijn verschillende platforms die de trappen opbreken en een kleine pauze mogelijk maken als je die nodig hebt. Tegenwoordig is het rotsfort van Sigiriya een van de beroemdste archeologische schatten en wordt het door UNESCO genoemd Deze versterkte tuinstad van het rotsfort van Sigiriya is een uitzonderlijk meesterwerk van oude stadsplanning/landschap & architectuur/bouwtechnologie/uitzonderlijke waterbouwkunde & management/oude beeldende kunst. Een goed geplande stad en paleis in de 5e eeuw na Christus. Het rotsfort van Sigiriya wordt erkend als een van de best bewaarde overgebleven oude stedelijke locaties in Azië uit het 1e millennium of het is gewoon een levend museum. Sigiriya World Heritage Site is veelzijdig en heeft een veelzijdige aantrekkingskracht, en het is een van de oude politieke hoofdsteden van Sri Lanka en de meest sensationele erfgoedsite van Sri Lanka.
Bezoek het traditionele dorp Sigiriya om getuige te zijn van de eenvoudige levensstijl van de mensen in Sri Lanka. Je kunt zien hoe de landbouw- en landbouwactiviteiten worden uitgevoerd, koken van authentieke Sri Lankaanse keukens met het beste gebruik van kruiden, enz. We started early in the morning and covered major sites like Sigiriya, Dambulla Cave temple and Minneriya National park safari in the same day. In extra, our guide cum driver Dulaj took us to spice garden as well. All the way, Dulaj drove excellent. Thanks to the trip coordinator Mr Geesara.

My experience with Mahawali Tours was exceptional, I booked the Sigiraya tour and also transfer through them. All their drivers have been extremely professional, welcoming, helpful and have gone above and beyond to make sure I was getting the best experience and have given me many nice recommendations.
Our driver Dulaj was excellent. We were picked up in Kandy and driven to Sigirya and the Dambulla. We also stoppped in Natalie to view a wonderful Huddhu temple and also a spice and herb farm both were very interesting . We then went to the Sigiriya Rock before it was too hot. The climb is a big challenge and not for the faint hearted but so worth the view and achievement value at the top. We then visited the Dambulla cave temples. We didn’t like to do more stairs after the Rock but the cave temples are so worth going to see - the size of the lying Buhhds is so different. Then on the way back to Kandy Dulaj took us to the centre of Sri Lanka!!!! There is a really ancient tiny temple to see there, Dulaj made the amazing trip to Dambulla and Sigiriya Rock one of the best trips we have had.
Amila was our tour guide for the day, and he was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly friendly, kind, genuine, and cooperative throughout the entire trip. He went above and beyond to accommodate us and truly gave us a wonderful impression of the warm hospitality and kindness of the Sri Lankan people. He made the experience unforgettable. The company was also excellent , very communicative, organized, and highly responsive from start to finish. I truly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. Ana amazing experience, I had Shanaka as my guide who was really lovely and accomodating. It turned out to be a private tour not a group tour which meant he gave me the option of what I wanted to do so we did a Sigiriya village tour instead of the safari which was incredible highly recommend (and a lot cheaper). Includes riding in a traditional cart and then a boat ride where the guide made me a bouquet of flowers and necklace and then a lovely lunch with traditional Sri Lankan food! We also visited the dumbulla cave temples and I climbed the sigiriya rock which was breathtaking. Highly recommend if you want to tick of a lot of spots in one day.
