Geniet van een privétrip van een hele dag van Tirana naar Kosovo, waarbij u de twee belangrijkste steden bezoekt: Prizren en Pristina. Je verkent de oude stad van Prizren met zijn stenen brug, bazaar en Ottomaanse bezienswaardigheden, en gaat vervolgens verder naar Pristina om het Pasgeboren Monument, de Moeder Teresakathedraal en de beroemde Nationale Bibliotheek te zien. We zullen vertrekken vanuit Tirana en de noordelijke uitlopers van Albanië doorkruisen, waarna we de grens naar Kosovo zullen oversteken. Deze relatief recente snelweg die de twee landen met elkaar verbindt, is een symbool geworden van het versterken van hun verbinding en eenheid. Het landschap zal veranderen van het grootstedelijke Tirana naar meer landelijke en voormalige mijnsteden. Op ongeveer 260 kilometer afstand van Tirana ligt de hoofdstad en grootste stad van Kosovo: Pristina. Bewoond sinds het oude stenen tijdperk, uit de oude Vinča-cultuur, het is een van de meest meeslepende archeologische en historische vindplaatsen.
Gelegen in het hart van Pristina, bruist de grote bibliotheek van meer dan twee miljoen exemplaren van materialen, waarvan sommige dateren uit de 15e eeuw. De architectuur is een goed voorbeeld van Joegoslavisch brutalisme en is een meesterlijke synthese van Byzantijns, Ottomaans en Servisch design, waardoor het een echte microkosmos van de stad is. Sinds 1982 doet de bibliotheek dienst als Nationale Bibliotheek van Kosovo en biedt nog steeds een majestueus kijkje in het verleden.
Ontdek het bruisende stadscentrum van Pristina. Dompel jezelf onder in het culturele erfgoed en bewonder het iconische monument van Newborn en de magnifieke Moeder Theresa-kathedraal. Als we vertrekken vanuit Pristina, trekken we richting Prizren, een gewaardeerde titel van de Culturele Hoofdstad van Kosovo. Liggend langs de rivier de Bistrica, in de schaduw van het tijdloze Prizren-kasteel, is deze stad een baken geweest voor de Albanese geschiedenis en politiek van de negentiende eeuw
Daarom kunnen we de gelegenheid niet voorbij laten gaan om het Huis van de Prizren League te bezoeken, een belangrijke mijlpaal die de eerste poging tot onafhankelijkheid en de oprichting van een parlement en regering markeerde. Bovendien kunnen we kennis maken met de cultuur van het gebied door een bezoek te brengen aan het Etnografisch Museum dat is gehuisvest in het Huis van de Liga.
Begeef je op een reis van authentieke verkenning en bezoek de beroemde "Stone Bridge of Love" en de traditionele bazaar van Prizren. Gelegen rond de majestueuze Sinan Pasha-moskee, is dit het meest boeiende en historisch verrijkte deel van Prizren. Dwaal door de oude straten van de oude stad en bewonder de kleurrijke, traditionele bazaar, waar charmant handwerk en voortreffelijke parfumwinkels op elke hoek staan.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to visit Kosovo from Tirana. Armando was very knowledgeable and passionate about Albanian and Kosovo history. He was very friendly and accommodating, even taking us to the best ice cream shop in Prizren and hanging out with us. Kosovo was beautiful with an emotional history and beautiful charm. Armando was able to convey the magic of Kosovo and we had a lot of laughs and fun in the process! He also takes great photos!
This trip has the potential to be very good, but you have to have a good guide. Our guide was unpleasant and extremely unprofessional. He spent an enormous amount of time arguing with one of the customers on multiple occasions. The scenes were disturbing. He had difficulty answering some questions and his English was difficult to understand. Finally, the air conditioning in the van was not working on an extremely hot day. This was the worst guides I have ever had during my long life of travel. Viator, you need to investigate this.

Regarding the "argument" you mentioned, our understanding is that this was a conversation between the guide and one of our guests, Farrouk. They got along very well during the tour, have remained in contact ever since, and have actually become good friends. Nevertheless, if this interaction made you uncomfortable, we sincerely regret that, as it was certainly never intended to create that impression. As for the air conditioning, the vehicle's A/C was fully functional throughout the tour. Unfortunately, the rear blower stopped working unexpectedly on the return journey. This was a sudden mechanical issue, and the driver did his best to manage the situation and ensure everyone returned safely and comfortably under the circumstances. Customer satisfaction is extremely important to us, and we never ignore constructive feedback. Our guide was great and made the trip enjoyable. It’s a great chance to see another country without the stress of driving yourself. The only downside was that our van had 3 seats that were rear facing and the A/C was broken. Our guide did his best to resolve the problem.

It's a long day but worth it. I learned a lot about the history of Kosovo and the Albanian people. Would have preferred more time in Prizren. It is far more interesting than Pristina. But it was still interesting learning about Pristina's fate during the war for independence while in the city itself.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and eager to share everything she knew. My version of the tour started in Prizen and then to Pristina. Prizen was charming and our guide was able to point out all the historic points of interest before the museum. I chose free time instead of the museum and was able to get in some shopping and a very filling lunch at a by our guide. Pristina was meaningful and a great learning experience through monuments and street art.
Great way to see two cities in Kosovo. Our guide was excellent. Prizren was our favorite of the two cities. Please bring Euro or MKD, most places don’t take a credit card.
