Amer Fort (vaak ook gespeld als "Amber") is een fort in Amer, Rajasthan, India. Amer Fort, zoals het nu staat, werd gebouwd over de overblijfselen van deze eerdere structuur tijdens het bewind van Raja Man Singh, de Kachwaha-koning van Amber. De bouw van het fort werd gestart in het jaar 1592. De structuur werd volledig uitgebreid door zijn afstammeling, Jai Singh I. Zelfs later, Amer Fort onderging verbeteringen en toevoegingen door opeenvolgende heersers in de volgende 150 jaar, totdat de Kachwahas hun hoofdstad naar Jaipur verlegden in de tijd van Sawai Jai Singh II, in 1727 .Amer Fort staat bekend om zijn artistieke hindoeïstische stijlelementen. Met zijn grote wallen en reeks poorten en geplaveide paden, kijkt het fort uit over het Maota-meer. Dit prachtige fort bestaat uit een uitgebreid paleiscomplex, gebouwd van lichtgeel en roze zandsteen en wit marmer.

Great experience. Damo drove us where we wanted and showed us the flower market. He added some explanation to the tour so that we learnt some things. He was also attentive to us during the heat pic.
