Hi Janaka , this is a honest feedback with very good and perfect sevice with good hospitality for your company , also Seshan was amazing guide and was very humble in his approach , kindly consider him for couple tours🙏
I booked this tour months in advance and did not want to miss going to Sigiriya. JK Travel sent me a message early in the afternoon the day before my tour, asking if I could change the day of my tour because of the petrol shortage. I replied if it is in doubt I would like to cancel as I did not want to miss going to Sigiriya and would make alternative arrangements. JK Travels then told me the petrol issue was not a problem and was going ahead. I reiterated I had cancelled and made other plans. When I asked for a refund I have had no reply or communication from them since. In good faith I believe I should have been offered a refund without me having to ask. I would not do any tours with this company in the future.
Dear Traveller, Thanks for the feedback. Since you are aware the global situation and the country situation, we have asked whether you can postpone or not. and we didnt ask you to cancel the tour or we havent planned it. As a reputable company in Sri Lanka we do not cancel the tour in last minute bcz we know how important it is for you. So we sent a message to check the possibility of postponing, and that's it. We have arranged everything for you and you communicated that you have already arranged another tour and asking us to cancel the existing tour. We can't cancel the tour bcz everything was ready for you. It doesn't make sense that you planned something else and asking us to refund at night. Please try to understand that we are not able to cancel the tour in last minute and it will affect our ratings.
I had Indika as my driver for this tour and for the Kandi one. I had an awesome experience. It's a long day of driving but every place has so much history and amazing views. Indika took great care of me and always gave me suggestions as well as planning the activities based on my preferences. I would love to go back to Sri Lanka and explore much more in the next visit. Thank you so much to Indika and the tour company for a great first experience! :)
Great opportunity to explore the ancient ruins and history. The tour itself great and well structured and started from Dambulla cave. Then Sigiriya and finally polonnaruwa. It was a long long day and you need good fitness.but frankly the Service and the driver was great who accompanied everything for us. Appreciate for everything and the safe drive from Colombo to polonnaruwa.
I just want to thank the tour operator and my driver Asanga for doing the tour yesterday even though I was the only customer. Usually other operators would cancel but you guys stuck it out. The tour was great too, the operator suggested some custom changes to make it more exciting and diverse.
As everyone noted this is a long day and that is for sure the correct advice. It was a long day, but Mr. Wasa who was our driver made it enjoyable. He knew where to stop for breaks and very clean restaurants rooms!! That’s a plus. He explained different sites along the way, which was amazing!!!! Now let’s talk about Dambulla, the Buddha temple!! This will cost you $3000 RS per person, no credit card for the temple. If you are in shape or not it’s a lot of steps up to the top. I had to take a break a few times along the way up. When you get about half way up, you will run into a group offering you flowers and it’s not free, you will have to give them something so have change not large bills. Now at the top you have to remove your shoes and either walk barefoot or with socks on. Also to store your shoes they want a money as well so remember to have small bills or change. While up there you have vendors trying to sell you items be prepared and say no thank you or buy. Ladies wear long pants, if not you will have to buy the sorong to cover your legs if wearing shorts. Now the fun time begins because you will be approached by a few people who will ask you if you a need a guide on the temple tour. Say no thank you because again they will want money!!!! Now exiting the temple the stairs are not even, so be extra careful and hold on to the ledge or rails. Now on to Sigiriya, you can pay by credit card and it’s $35.00 dollars if, I said if you are climbing the mountain via steps is 3 times that of the Dambulla temple!!! Be prepared and ready for the workout. Also note if you are seeing the park and just want to take pictures of the mountain you don’t have to pay the $35.00. So while in the park the mountain is about half a mile or more once you enter. The same people going up will also be coming down the same stairs so it takes about 1 hour. Remember if you’re not climbing it isn’t $35.00. The same approach as the temple, you will have people approaching you to be a guide or get great views via a Tuk Tuk driver who will take you to several spots to get great views of the mountain and take you around to other sites in the same area. Be aware that these guys have other areas to stop off such as a herbalist spot where you as a tourist can say yes or no to buy herbal healthy ingredients and you get a a massage with herbal ingredients from your head to your back. Not free you gotta give them something. Lastly, on why I give this tour 4/5, it is such a long day after driving for 4 hours and spending several hours at Dambulla and Sigiriya you are ready to go back to the hotel. The last site Polonnaruwa is 2 hours away from Sigiriya and if you are staying in Colombo, that’s a 6 hour drive back through all the Tuk Tuk and scooters. Getting back would have been 11:00 pm. I opted out of that site. I have to give Mr. Wasa all the patience and credit for getting us back to Colombo safely!! If you need a driver he is the driver to have!! I will give him 5/5 stars for driving and the conversation. Please give this hard working man a raise!!!! The tour is an experience and a must see but be prepared for an extremely long, long, day!! Bring snacks, plenty of water or ask your driver to stop if you want anything else. Another tip If you do get a chance and stop at the Gem shop be prepared to spend money your choice!!
Very good trip and great places to visit but it was a lot to get done in one day, so one of the sites was a quick visit only. Given we spent a long time driving, I was unhappy that the audio system in the car did not work for either radio or Bluetooth connection. The driver said he had reported it the day before so this should have been fixed or a different car used. Had I known I could have taken headphones or my own Bluetooth speaker. The driver was diligent and mostly did his best to do a good job. However, he spent a lot of time on his mobile phone while driving. This is unsafe and not acceptable, particularly as it was hand held.
The team were very easy to deal with and the driver and guide prompt, professional and friendly. As a bonus, we went to a genuine village restaurant on the way back and had our best meal in Sri Lanka!
This is not possible as a 11-13 hour trip as advertised. To do what is stated would need around 17 hours! I
Dear Traveller, Thanks for your valuable feedback. First, let me explain that the tour is not a 17-hour journey. As we explained to you, there was a 3-day-long public holiday in srilanka from Friday to Sunday. So mostly Dambulla, Sigiriya is crowded on those days with locals. This is not always, and it's a very rare situation. So, due to heavy traffic on the roads and the crowding in Sigiriya and Dambulla, the regular time was exceeded. Hope you experienced a long queue in Sigiriya climbing, and it's not our fault, and it's an uncontrollable factor. So you have to accept this kind of situation on a public holiday. But it will not reflect to give us 2 stars for this reason. Hope you can understand the real situation you faced.
Excellent day, very accommodating guide. Looked after us so well. Great day experiencing the culture. Would do it again.
