Dante's Ravenna: een zelfgeleide audiotour

Maak een wandeling door de laatste hoofdstad van het West-Romeinse rijk, de hoofdstad van het koninkrijk van de Goten en het Byzantijnse exarchaat. Tijdens deze zelfgeleide audiotour proef je ook de kracht van de grote republiek Venetië en het 19e-eeuwse Italiaanse Risorgimento, al die tijd vergezeld van enkele van de beroemdste mozaïeken ter wereld in aanwezigheid van vele UNESCO-erfgoedsites. De tour begint in het oude Rome, met het mausoleum van Galla Placidia en neemt je na de val mee naar de basiliek van San Vitale. We gaan dan door de middeleeuwen naar de 19e eeuw, terwijl we naar Piazza del Popolo gaan. Daarna gaan we terug naar de tijd van de gotische overheersing met de doopkapel van de Ariana voordat we een uitgebreide doofpotoperatie gaan zien in de basiliek van Sant'Apollinare Nuova. Tenslotte brengen we een bezoek aan de stoffelijke resten van de grote dichter Dante Alighieri, vader van de Italiaanse taal.

This was a great walking tour with a really good and useful app! We went at our own time and lingered the places we wanted to and the app automatically kept up to our movements and paused when we hadn't reached the next place just yet. Excellent audio, good walking directions, would buy again!
The tour was hard to follow because a lot of the areas were closed. It wasn't easy to skip to the next site.

Very convenient and informative! Kind of difficult in the beginning figuring out how the app worked and what was included but once we did it was great! We would definitely recommend!

Great app for exploring the city on your own but still with information. The tour is a good length and the comments are very fitting. The content is highly recommended. There was a problem with the download code, but the support was there immediately (in just 1 minute) and was able to solve it. Top service.
Great facts about the city at your own pace. The only issue was my playback wasn't automatically continuous so I'd have to keep checking my phone to see if I was in the right area each time.
I did fine with this tour for the first 2 stops, although the starting point was hard to find and required a $12 entry fee. Then the tour moved ahead quickly, and I was unable to back it up to get the directions on which way to go. I gave up and went shopping.
Hi Melissa The tour starts outside the attraction and is designed so you don't have to enter it. Did you perhaps start the tour virtually? If you did, it disables the GPS playback and plays one track after the other which would explain why it moved ahead too quickly. Thanks, Alicia
This audio tour is a great way to experience Ravenna at your own pace and see all the main things! I highly recommend it. And you can’t beat the price!
Dante's Ravenna is very little compared to the majesty of the mosaics of the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, the brilliance of the Byzantine mosaics of San Vitale, the blast from the past in Sant'Apollinare Nuovo, the imposing simplicity of the mausoleum of Theodoric and Sant'Apollinare in Classe. From the Neon Baptistery (of the Orthodox) to the Aryan Baptistery Still wonderful to discover three meters underground the Domus of stone carpets, from the Good Shepherd to the dance of the geniuses of the seasons. Stendhal Syndrome......you return home rich in history and culture!
We spent a night in Ravenna prior to a cruise--The tour was easy to follow and took us through the 5 mosaic sights of Ravenna. It was nice to have the commentary
