We had a very informative tour. The guide was excellent
Terrific day. Pick up on time, adequate information beforehand, heaps of information during the day about place, some of the history, and practical timing arrangements. Marvellous to see different parts of the Daintree zone including a river cruise and crossing, rainforest, and Cape Tribulation. Quite a bit of walking around at various stops during the day, surrounded by magnificent nature. Memorable!
Apart from Viator causing some confusion with the time and pickup location It was all a really good day. Our guide and bus driver Andy saved the day on more than one occasion, firstly by locating where to pick us up and secondly by rearranging the itinerary when the ferry across the Daintree River had a mechanical problem. Andy arranged for us to go to the Daintree River Cruise where we were given a hot drink and biscuits and then straight onto the cruise. The 2 staff on the cruise were light hearted and fun as well as very professional. They took us to see several crocodiles which they knew by name, size and history. From there we went to Mt Alexandra Lookout with great views to the sea. Then it was on to lunch at The Heritage Lodge where we were served a delicious lunch and opportunity to swim in the creek. Then we walked off our lunch at the Madja Boardwalk with our guide Andy who was very knowledgeable about a lot of the flora and fauna that we didn’t know. From there we went to Cape Tribulation where we walked to the beach and a nearby lookout. On the trip home we called into the Daintree Ice Cream company where we enjoyed a triple flavoured tropical fruit ice cream. Throughout the day Andy told us about the local sugar cane industry and the farmers dilemma. He also told us a lot about Capt. Cook and the reason for naming Cape Tribulation. It was an amazing day packed full of points of interest and information. We highly recommend it.
Pleasant place even in the winter. The heritage train ride and the Daintree Rainforest experience were way too rushed , but still gave taste of the place.
This is an all day tour and a lot of time is spent picking up people at different spots in Cairns & Port Douglas. You might enjoy doing a driving tour on your own to save that time. My husband was happy to not have to drive especially since it is the opposite side of the road from the US. The boat ride was good and we got to see lots of crocodiles. The walk through the rainforest was not too exciting. We did see a cassowary off the road as we were driving which was very cool.
Not at all good value for money. Perhaps one of the most boring trips we’ve ever done and absolutely not what we were hoping! Having visted the Daintree previously (many years ago) and done an exciting trip in a 4x4 vehicle with an experienced guide who told countless stories and gave information about many things in the Daintree forest we were disappointed in this trip. In a nutshell: - was not a small group as promised on the website, but a group of around 20 people, with at least another 3 of the same 4x4 buses in convoy all travelling the identical route. - a rushed approach at each place: “sit down, eat and be at the bus in 30 minutes” kinda thing. - guide was ok, friendly enough, but no click with anyone in the group and seemed lijke someone had just pressed the “repeat button” in the morning. Not particularly enthusiastic. - Spent most of the time sitting in the bus or eating. The bus windows fogged up all the time (high humidity and rain) so couldn’t even see much out of the windows. - “Guided boardwalk with experienced guide” was a total disappointment! Guide had no control over the group at all and the group was so varied in age and level of fitness that it was impossible to cater for all needs. But the lady that was 98 years old (doing the trip with her husband of 102 years!) beat the whole group around the circuit together with us! The rest of the group was SO slow, but the guide didn’t interact or tell anything special at all so we walked on and did a self-guided tour! My kids, always up for a bit of adventure where bored out of their minds! - Food at restaurant was okay. If you’re up for a boring, overpriced tour and being herded around like cattle from one place to the next with many many others then this is for you! If you want to walk, learn, experience nature in an exciting fun-filled dynamic tour look for something else or go in own vehicle, the roads where all very good, no need for 4WD along the route we were taken! Boat tour along the river was well worthwhile, saw lots of crocs!
Daintree and Cape Tribulation An all day trip from Cairns to Cape Tribulation with pick up at 7am and return by 6.15 pm The tour included a drive to the Daintree and with a finish at cape tribulation. The Tour included a one hour cruise on the Daintree River where we experienced seeing crocodiles, up to 6, lounging on the side of the river. Our guide/driver was Graeme. He was extremely knowledgeable regarding the eco climates of the Daintree and presented them well with a touch of Australian humour Our tour vehicle was a 4 wheel drive high clearance 12 seat bus built for off road conditions ( actually the roads well made and did not consider this form of vehicle necessary) NOTE we were in the very back seat as we were the last picked up. These seats were over the rear axle and we felt every bump in the road, big time, and there were many of those. A very uncomfortable ride. If taking this tour avoid these seats if possible I have no reservation in throughly recommending this tour, and if possible, Graeme
This tour is well worth the money! We had done a tour a few days earlier in K’Gari and I hoped this wouldn’t be too similar. This one was one of a kind! It seemed to take our bus group of 16 people a little time to warm up to Daniel, our efficient and interesting tour guide / driver. Then again it was a very early start for everyone. Yes, there is a lot of driving - this is clear from the description of the full day (11 hours all in) but on the way there was commentary helping the time pass. Daniel also slowed down and pointed out a papa cassowary with two chicks on the side of the road. The order of our stops varied from the usual itinerary but we still did them all and there was plenty of time at each of them. First stop was at a quick rest area for a comfort break with a juice box and cookies (this felt a little like a school trip lol). Next stop was at Wali Wugirriga for a quick photo opportunity at a lookout. Then the much anticipated rain forest walk on the elevated boardwalk. The highlight of this was definitely spotting a python in a tree! I don’t think this is common so what a chance that was for us! Then we had a next stop at a refreshing creek for a quick dip (only 3 of us went in) and a yummy lunch which we had pre-ordered from the bus. All the reviewers mention the Daintree ice cream company and this did not disappoint! Lastly was the riverboat ride and this was also excellent. The crocodiles that call the river home were spotted as well as a young croc and several native birds. We all learned a thing or two about FNQ wildlife. A quick iced tea was offered thenany of us dozed while Daniel kept us safe and comfortable taking us “home”.
I had an amazing day on the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation Full Day Tour. From start to finish, everything was well organised, and our guide, John, was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the region. The scenery was absolutely stunning, and I loved learning about the unique rainforest ecosystem, local wildlife, and the history of the area. The itinerary was well paced, giving me plenty of time to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed.
Tour was great! Includes a nice variety of activities and our guide, Graham (aka, G) was awesome! We saw the Daintree Rainforest and G had lots of cool information about everything we saw. The boat trip on the Daintree River was great - saw lots of crocs!! I loved swimming in the creek (croc free!) at the lunch stop and the delicious ice cream we had later in the day was some of the best we've ever had -- interesting, yummy flavors! Pick-up and drop-off were seamless. A full day but well worth it!
