Ontvlucht Rome voor de dag met deze unieke tour door Tivoli. Dit prachtige, bergtopstadje net buiten Rome ligt op slechts een korte en comfortabele rit met de bus. Daar ontdekt u de relatief onbekende en toch mooie Villa van Hadrianus en Villa d'Este, terwijl onze lokale gids de rijke geschiedenis deelt van beide UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocaties.

We zullen de verleidelijke ruïnes van de 2e eeuw na Christus ver achter ons laten terwijl we doorgaan naar de 14e eeuw naar onze tweede bestemming, Villa d'Este - een van de mooiste Renaissance-villa's in Italië. Dit prachtige paleis, met zijn buitengewone tuinen gevuld met honderden fonteinen, zal je een betoverend gevoel geven. De monumentale fontein van Bernini wordt beschouwd als de meest indrukwekkende, zijn waterstralen bereiken een hoogte van 10 meter. Om niet te zeggen dat de Centrale Fontein en de Ovale Fontein je niet even ontzag zullen bezorgen.
Deze betoverende dagtrip vanuit Rome begint met een busrit van 40 minuten naar de Villa van Hadrianus. De uitgestrektheid van het landgoed van Hadrianus is een gezicht dat zeker indruk zal maken. De keizer koos ervoor om zijn woning buiten de stad te bouwen op een plek die rijk is aan water, om de beroemde Canopus te bouwen, een van de meest bewaard gebleven locaties die nog in het complex zijn achtergebleven. De beelden rondom deze plas water creëren verbluffende reflecties op het oppervlak, prachtig omgeven door weelderige groene tuinen.

The sites here are fascinating. The gardens and fountains are amazing. Although this is a long excursion, much of it felt rushed. Our guide’s English was much harder to understand than the other 4 guides I toured with this week. She rushed through many things and could be difficult to keep up with. At one point I was separated from the group for about 45 minutes because of this.
Pleasant bus ride, knowledgeable, guide, beautiful sites, exquisite fountains Lunch was nice. Got to interact with the other visitors.
I looked into independently visiting Hadrians Villa and Villa D'este in Tivoli but it looked to difficult so we booked a day trip with enjoy rome. It was a good decision our guide Marta was excellent in every respect. The whole trip was very well organised from start to finish. The sites themselves are amazing. Really happy we got to see both of them
The sites were wonderful and the guide Giuseppe was very informative. Only issue was the transportation was poor. Regular tour bus going but the return transportation was a small mini bus that was extremely uncomfortable

Lots of walking, beautiful gardens. Lots of restaurants in Tivoli. Excellent guide. Smaller bus but acceptable.
Two villas in a day. 40 mins to reach and return. Hadrian's villa has some large buildings. Villa d'Este has beautiful gardens and magnificent fountains, especially the Organ fountain.
Alicia was our guide and you can tell she has been doing it for 30 years. She knew so much about both locations. Hadrians Villa while old and defiantly taken apart was still beautiful, but Villa De Este was Stunning and Im glad I got to see it
