Ontdek Rabat, de hoofdstad van Marokko en een van de vier keizerlijke steden, tijdens een dagtrip vanuit Casablanca. Bij aankomst stapt u terug in de tijd naar de 12e eeuw met een bezoek aan de iconische Hassantoren. Dit torenhoge bouwwerk, onderdeel van een ambitieus moskeeproject dat onafgemaakt bleef door Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour, is een bewijs van het middeleeuwse erfgoed en de aspiraties van de stad. In de buurt biedt het Mausoleum van Mohammed V een inkijkje in de recentere geschiedenis van Marokko, met zijn onberispelijke witte silhouet ter ere van de erfenis van de vereerde koningen van het land en hun rol bij het bereiken van de onafhankelijkheid. Wandel door de Kasbah van de Udayas, een fort dat ooit de stad beschermde tegen invasies en nu dient als een vredige buurt met tuinen in Andalusische stijl. Wandel door de Medina, waar oude Berberwortels samenkomen met Franse koloniale accenten in een levendige marktplaats. Na 1u30 rijden naar een minaret Hassan Tower, grenzend aan de ruïnes van een onvoltooide moskee. De bouw van de moskee en het mineraal begon in de 12e eeuw tijdens de heerschappij van de Almohaden, Yacoub al-Mansour. de toren is 44 meter hoog en heeft ingewikkelde decoratieve details, zoals kalligrafie en geometrische patronen.
Het Grote Islamitische mausoleum in Rabat werd gebouwd tussen 1961 en 1971, na de dood van koning Mohammed V in 1961. Het mausoleum is ontworpen door de Vietnamese architect Nguyen Viet Thu, en de bouw werd uitgevoerd door Marokkaanse ambachtslieden. het beschikt over indrukwekkende islamitische architectuur, ingewikkeld marmerwerk. De tombes zijn gemaakt van wit onyx en bevinden zich onder een grote koepel.
Na 15 minuten bereiken we een groot paleis dat in 1864 werd gebouwd tijdens de regering van Sultan Mohammed IV, en dat de officiële residentie is van de koning van Marokko. Het paleis heeft traditionele Marokkaanse architectuur, sierlijk ijzerwerk en ingewikkeld telewerk. Hoewel bezoekers het paleis niet binnen mogen, kunnen ze het van buitenaf bekijken en genieten van de omliggende tuinen. Het blijft een belangrijke culturele en historische plek in Rabat
We gaan naar challa fortess die in 2012 is opgenomen als een UNESCO-werelderfgoed, als de populairste toeristische attractie van Rabat en waar zowel Romeinse ruïnes als een middeleeuwse moslimnecropolis te vinden zijn.
Op 5 minuten afstand vindt u een historisch fort dat dateert uit de 12e eeuw, gemaakt van zandsteen en versterkt met bastions, poorten en torens. Ze omringen de oude stad Rabat en bezoekers kunnen er langs wandelen om te genieten van het uitzicht op Medina en de omgeving.

in ongeveer 10 minuten. naar een prachtige, traditionele tuin. het werd gebouwd in het begin van de 20e eeuw door de Franse architect Jean-Claude Forestier. het beschikt over een centrale spiegelvijver, sinaasappelbomen, bloemperken, fonteinen, paviljoens, pergola's en sierlijk tegelwerk en poorten, allemaal kenmerkend voor de Andalusische tuinstijl. PS: de tuin is gesloten op vrijdag.
Tijdens de tour is een lunchpauze gepland; de kosten van de lunch zijn echter niet inbegrepen. U bent van harte welkom om te genieten van een maaltijd, een kopje koffie of gewoon ontspannen en de sfeer in Marina Salé opsnuiven. Lunch kost meestal tussen de €10 en €20, afhankelijk van uw voorkeuren.

We booked this tour to include hotel pickup. Unfortunately, the tour company did not show up on time, so when I message the company they stated I was supposed to meet at a pick up point. No where in my confirmation does it state anything about a pick up point. It does confirm pick up at my hotel. I even confirmed through WhatsApp they had the correct pick up hotel a few days before the tour. They did eventually pick us up at our hotel, but 45 min late. Rest of the tour was good and we did have a good tour guide. Just frustrating when everything is confirmed and the tour doesn’t start off smoothly.

Hicham Minhaj is the best driver in Morocco. He took us on the tour to Casablanca and then to Rabbat, navigating some crazy traffic and spending over 12 hours to cater to our desires. Had a great time with Youssef (driver) and Mohammed (tour guide). Overall, a low-hassle, cost effective way to explore Rabat from Casablanca. Some sights like the Chellah are definitely more interesting than others (Medina), so my suggestion to the tour organizers would be to spend more time at the former.
