Mont St. Michel, of “Het Wonder van het Westen”, is een van de topattracties van Frankrijk en de populairste bestemming in Normandië. Onze dagtrip brengt u naar dit UNESCO Werelderfgoed tijdens een comfortabele busrit vanuit Parijs, waarbij u onderweg de landschappen van Normandië in u opneemt. Als je dit unieke eiland nadert, vang je je eerste glimp op van de beroemde 10e-eeuwse gotische abdij. Je hebt vier uur de tijd om te lunchen en op je gemak te verkennen, met je meertalige audio Gids indien optie geselecteerd. Dwaal door het dorp en de steile straatjes, bezoek de abdij met zijn middeleeuwse architectuur, jaag op ansichtkaarten over de Atlantische Oceaan en kijk hoe het tij opkomt rond het eiland. Vergeet niet om lokale, seizoensgebonden producten te proeven in de traditionele inrichting van een van de vele eetgelegenheden. Het eiland is aan u om in uw eigen tempo te genieten, voordat u met de bus terugkeert naar Parijs.

Sommige restaurants in het dorp sluiten halverwege de middag, dus overweeg om aan de eerdere kant te eten. Waarom ga je dan niet naar de top van de heuvel (om je lunch af te werken!) en bezoek je de benedictijnenabdij? Dit bedevaartsoord uit de Middeleeuwen werd gesticht toen de bisschop van Avranches een visioen van aartsengel Michaël in een droom zag. Het bevat een koperen beeld van Michaël die een draak doodt, de refter van de monnik, kloosters en wallen. Bezoek op eigen gelegenheid de Abdij.
Bekijk de winkels, cafés en musea (met onze exclusieve kortingen) die langs de smalle straatjes lopen terwijl u bergafwaarts wandelt. Kijk uit naar observatiepunten waar je het getij kunt observeren. Bij laag water is het eiland omgeven door zand, dan is het bij hoog water helemaal omsloten door water! Aan het einde van je magische dag stap je terug in de bus om terug te keren naar Parijs. Rijd door het Franse platteland voordat u aankomt in de Franse hoofdstad. Eenmaal in Parijs rond 8.45/9PM (ongeveer), wordt u teruggebracht naar het vertrekpunt.

- Er wordt tijdens deze trip redelijk wat gewandeld en er moeten trappen worden beklommen om de abdij op de heuvel te bereiken

- Het is raadzaam goede wandelschoenen aan te trekken
- Deze trip vindt het hele jaar door en in alle weersomstandigheden plaats. Zorg dat u gepaste kleding draagt

A little more time to eat more calmly would have been better, since it is a very long trip. But it was excellent and definitely worth it to go.

This tour of Mont St Michel was not guided but relied on a cell phone app to be downloaded that we pre paid. Unfortunately , we could not establish an Internet connection and could not download the app. As a result, we had NO information or guidance to assist our walking through the monastery. Two of three shuttles buses bringing travelers to the entrance broke down causing hour long wait to get to and from the monastery to the parking lot. Only other option was 45 minute walk (approx. Two miles) from parking lot.

Excellent! Well organized with option to be guided or self guide. Four hours to this abbey was worth it. A must do!

Be on time or a bit earlier. I really enjoyed the trip and walking through the castle with the guide and his explanation. He was very through and tired to make sure everyone could keep up and was gracious to let any one fall out with notice. My guide was a really kind man and even looked after one of the guest’s kid who had some learning disability and kept him from getting lost in the crowd.

It is a long and exhausting trip, but when you arrive at the place, it is worth it; you have to walk a lot, but it is an incredible place.

We did the tour in a group of 3 friends and it went well. The beat-and-go is heavy, but very organized with schedules and worth it. Even being run, we consider it an unavoidable walk. The ride lasts 5h with a quick stop to the bathroom and to eat, and the same on the return. Monte saint michel is beautiful, though very full. It's hard to make a meal sitting in a restaurant, but you can eat crepe or sandwiches. Our tour guide, José, is very friendly, attentive and responsible, in addition to being fluent in several languages, such as English, Spanish and Portuguese, which facilitates communication. The driver Khalid was great too. Anyway, an unforgettable walk, though heavy.

We went with my husband and had a fantastic day! It is amazing to see such a wonderful place; the Abbey is imposing, as are each view and the walk along its narrow walkways is divine. We thank our companion José and our driver Día for being very attentive and kind. Without a doubt, you must visit Mont Saint Michel!!!
