Silla and Mehdi served us very well and are very good guides and driver. We had a great day in Rabat thanks to them
Our driver was wonderful. He was polite and kind. The palace was lovely. The market felt a little rushed and very crowded. The camel ride was fun.
The tour itself was good. It was a long day from Casablanca. I feel like our local guide took us to his friend's shops and we did not get the deals we could have. He did not seem to want us to stop at any other vendors. The tour of the market seemed rushed as did the time we had for lunch. The camel ride at the end was a lot of fun and a perfect way to end our vacation. The driver from Casablanca was very professional and a great driver. Be aware while at the market. We feel like we were ripped off with our purchases. It was a great experience, just the same.
This experience was much like the reviews previously posted so it didn't come as a surprise. We were rushed through the market place and not allowed to stop anywhere we wanted to. The tour guide rushed us to places we didn't want to go. The tour guide seemed to be reading from a script and couldn't answer supplemental questions. The tour guide wouldn't wait for the group to be together to explain items so we missed most of what he said. It seemed as if we missed several pieces of our tour but we were told afterwards that we had been to these places but no one has explained that to us. Lunch was at a good place. It was worthwhile to get to Marrakech but very rushed and not very informative. The driver was great!!! We loved the driver. He made stops for us and drove in a safe manner.
Zero stars!!! Because we never got to do this tour. We were apprehensive about this tour because it got so many bad reviews, but believe me, we had the worst experience because we never even got to take it. We were waiting outside our hotel, even before the time they said to meet, but the driver came, and never properly identified himself to us, and then he left without us. To be fair. They did message me on WhatsApp, but Service was spotty and I did not get my message until later. I told him we have been waiting for a long time, but they refused to listen to us. They kept saying we were a no-show. They refused to give us a refund. They did not even offer to meet us somewhere along the way if we took a separate taxi. They must’ve been just only about 10 minutes away from us. I told them that we had been waiting for a long time, and that they did not properly try to identify us or identify themselves. The wonderful people at the front desk tried to get the tour company to understand that we had been waiting in front at the slotted time. The tour company told them that they asked for us at the front desk but this was a lie. The front desk people who had been there since way before our meeting time said no one came and asked for us. The least they could’ve done after all this was at least kindly give us a refund. But they refused to give us a refund and kept saying we were no-show. They sent a picture of the front of the hotel saying that the driver was there. I told her that you can see my sister in that picture meeting that we were not no-show! But they refuse to listen. Eventually, they stopped even reading my messages. I try to get a refund from Viator, and at first they seem to be cooperating with us, but then eventually, they refuse to give us a refund. How do you not give a refund when we were there right in front of the hotel we didn’t know they were there and they didn’t know we were there. So the least they could do is give us a refund!! We had booked tours in Fes and in Spain as well, and never had an issue with people identifying us. We had a lovely tours everywhere else. This was the first horrible experience and it was with horrible Easy Transfers. We found out later through other people that this is not a good company. We ended up getting a private taxi last minute because we had only that day to tour Marrakesh since we were leaving soon and had Rabat booked for the next day. Thankfully, the next day tour was with a different company and they were wonderful. If you want to book anything book it through Premium tours, not through Easy Transfers, this is a horrible company.
We had scheduled a different day for our excursion but agreed to move the date when asked by the booking company. We were picked up by the drver at the hotel. Another young couple was also picked up after us. We didn’t know this couple. The driver was great. The guide was terrible. He refused to allow us to purchase anything in the souk while he walked us around for about 2 hours and demanded we only visit shops where he got a commission. This meant our whole time was spent looking at rugs we did not want, tea and spice we didn’t want, a lecture on dyeing wool we didn’t want, etc. we were then taken to a restaurant where we were showed one lunch choice. It was represented as 250 d (about $25 US). We had to share this meal with the other couple who was with us on the tour. The food was subpar and wasn’t enough for 4 people but we didn’t say anything. We weren’t allowed to choose what we wanted. When the bill came, it was 4x the amount and for just food it was more than $100 US and another $40 for 4 beers and 1 glass of wine. The other young couple on the tour were as surprised as us at the bill and we ended up having to pay $100 of the check. We were defrauded and forced to spend our shopping money on a lousy lunch just so the guide could get a better commission. At the end of the day, we didn’t get to see all the places and never got to do any shopping. This was a total ripoff and a waste of our time and money. We gave the guide a $20 tip but it was only because we were being polite and he was waiting for a tip from us and the other couple had no money left. This was embarrassing for all of us to be put in this position. We gave the driver $30 tip. The guide asked us at the outset what hotel we were staying at and it was to calculate how much he wanted to scam from us as his commission. We feel like we got totally ripped-off and should get a refund for the tour.
We had an excellent driver, very polite and friendly. However the guide was much below expectations. His English was poor, it was difficult to understand him. He did his job without any enthusiasm. We never went to the secret garden with the entrance fee included in our itinerary. But we stoped in many shops where they tried to sell us all kind of things. We were wasting time there and did not have time to stop in places where we wanted. Overall it was a very nice tour that gave us an overview of the magnificent city of Marrakech and beautiful Moroccan countryside.
The driver, Mehdi, picked us up about a half hour late, which is not unusual to be late in Morocco. He was a quiet, excellent driver who made us feel safe. One of the first stops the local guide in Merekesh made was to a shop where we were given a sales talk. She took us to a number of shops throughout the day. Due the recent earthquake, we were not able to visit the palace. We took a quick walk through the square in Merekesh with no stopping. She was knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The 30 minute or so camel ride was included.
Let me start by saying it was extremely hot in Marakesh that day, about 110 degrees and I didn't see in the description that it was mostly a walking tour. We were excited about our tour but not about our tour guide. He was a bit robotic and seemed to memorize things and once we asked him something off script he seemed flustered. I don't know if he had an issue with his hearing but he barely responded when we tried to get his attention. I also didn't like that he took us through the market and didn't let us stop at a lot of places to shop and then he let us go to one shop where we were hustled and they charged us more than twice the price at other shops ( I found this out later in the day. Needless to say I was pissed). Then we kept walking on this apprx 3 hrs tour on this extremely hot day... which was not fun. We finally went to lunch which was ok. Then off to the see the camels... that was nice but it was too hot to really enjoy the camel ride. The men who took us on the camel ride were nice. I'm not sure I would do this tour again
